Irish Cash Consortium – Full Review

Horse racing in Ireland is famed for its big gambles, insider knowledge and behind-the-scenes whispers.

Over the years we’ve reviewed a few Irish racing services but haven’t come across too many successful ones unfortunately.

At the outset of this review we were hopeful that was all about to change with the Irish Cash Consortium.

The tips are provided by a guy called Aidan who apparently has contacts with gallops watchers, jockeys’ agents, stable insiders and a network of fellow professional punters – plus an inside line on where big gambles are being placed with the bookies.

Normally we would be a little skeptical of claims like these, but we have seen a similar service from the same source (i.e. the Matthew Walton stable) called Racing Intelligence that has proven to be of the highest quality and is one of our top recommended horse racing tipsters.

We are pleased to say that the Irish Cash Consortium followed suit and performed excellently in our trial, smashing through the 100 point barrier and finishing with 112 points profit at advised prices at the end of our extended 12 month trial (which incorporated 640 bets).

The gains were pretty consistent throughout the trial (with one or two peaks and troughs), as you can see below:

In terms of bank growth, the 75 point starting bank more than doubled over our trial, growing 149% which is excellent going.

The strike rate was impressive too at 36% (including placed horses) whilst the return on investment was more than respectable at 18%

For those who have had their bookie accounts restricted, the good news is that the service also proved profitable at Betfair SP, finishing with 66 points profit

So that’s around half of the profit of advised prices but still a healthy gain in its own right.

All in all then the Irish Cash Consortium ticks all the boxes and gets a definitive PASSED rating, with bells on!

Service Breakdown

Ease of use: The selections are sent out by e-mail (or Telegram if you prefer), periodically throughout the morning then there is a summary e-mail usually around midday. There are around 1-2 bets per day on average, which means it is very manageable in terms of workload.

Availability of prices: The prices often get pushed in a fair bit as Irish racing tends to not be quite as liquid as UK racing, so it’s a good idea to get your bets on as quickly as you can. However, they still made an impressive 66 points profit at BSP, so even if you can’t get the advised prices there is still good profit to be made.

Strike rate: The strike rate for our trial was good at 36% (including placed horses) meaning there was a steady supply of returns during our review and the drawdowns were manageable.

Advised Betting Bank: They recommend a 50-75 point bank for following the service, which seems reasonable to us. The staking is very sensible at 1 point per bet and with a solid strike rate, a 75 point bank should be sufficient and is what we used for this trial. If you wanted to be on the safer side, a 100 point bank could be used of course.

Subscription costs: The current subscription costs at the time of writing are £19.95 + VAT for the first month then £39.95 + VAT per month thereafter, which is pretty reasonable given the results achieved.

OVERALL VERDICT: PASSED

We ran an extended 12 month trial of horse racing tipster the Irish Cash Consortium and it delivered excellent results, producing 112 points profit at advised prices. That came at an ROI of 18% and a strike rate of 36%

It also performed well at Betfair SP, making 66 points profit. Suffice to say it’s a PASSED rating for this one then and great to have a profitable Irish racing service to add to the portfolio.

All that info seems to be paying off so far, let’s hope it continues.

Irish Cash Consortium – New Review

1st October 2021

Horse racing in Ireland is famed for its big gambles, insider knowledge and behind-the-scenes whispers.

Over the years we’ve reviewed a few Irish racing services but haven’t come across too many successful ones.

Hopefully that’s all about to change with the latest one we have lined up to review…and that’s a service called the Irish Cash Consortium.

The tips are provided by a guy called Aidan who apparently has contacts with gallops watchers, jockeys’ agents, stable insiders and a network of fellow professional punters – plus an inside line on where big gambles are being placed with the bookies.

Normally we would be a little skeptical of claims like these, but we have seen a similar service from the same source (i.e. the Matthew Walton stable) called Racing Intelligence that performed very well during our trial.

The results for this service look very promising too, with 120 points profit made since starting tipping back in March.

That has been achieved with an exceptional return on investment (ROI) of 38% and a decent strike rate of 37%.

And for those who have been restricted by the bookies, the good news is the results have also been strong at Betfair SP, with 110 points profit made at an ROI of 34%.

All in all that makes us believe this chap may indeed have the right contacts in the Irish racing industry.

As ever though, the proof of the pudding will be in the eating so let’s see how they get on under a live trial.

We started receiving the bets on 23rd September so will record results from then. Results will be updated here as usual as we go along.

In the meantime you can check out the Irish Cash Consortium for yourself here.

Edwards Tips – Full Review

Edwards Tips is a combined golf and snooker service where you can subscribe to either or both sets of tips.

It is run by Craig Edwards, an ex-pro snooker player turned sports betting tipster. He reached the first round of the 1991 World Snooker Championship and the last 16 of the European Open, so knows his way around the baize.

That seems to have translated into a promising career as a tipster and Craig uses his in-depth knowledge of the game and players to find an edge over the markets. He also has a passion for golf betting and uses his expertise and a qualitative approach to produce his selections.

We had been following the tips in a personal capacity for a while and had been impressed with the results so decided to start a proper review here on the site last year.

That review has lasted a full 12 months, which has given us a very substantial sample of over 1200 bets.

We are pleased to say that at the end of that extensive trial, things have gone very well indeed and Craig finished with a profit of 40 points in the end.

As mentioned numerous times during our trial however, the staking with this service is very low. The average stake during our trial was just 0.15 points. So it might be reasonable to times the stakes by 10 to get them on par with most services we review here.

On that basis the profit so far would actually be a very impressive 400 points.

It is worth breaking that down by sport though, as there was a considerable difference in the results:

Sport P/L ROI Strike Rate
Golf +41 points 21% 12%
Snooker -1 point -1% 30%

As you can see, it is actually the golf that made up all of the profit during our trial.

That has not always been the case historically though and prior to our trial, the snooker tips had made 150 points profit in total since Craig started tipping.

So it may have just been a dip during the last 12 months and the snooker tips may become profitable again, but is probably something just to keep an eye on for the moment.

In terms of the golf tips, it is also instructive to split them up into two separate categories, the outright tips and place tips (e.g. top 20, top 10 etc):

Category P/L ROI Strike Rate
Golf outright +24 points 18% 9%
Golf place +17 points 27% 18%

So pretty consistent across the two types of bet with the outright tips having made more profit but the place tips having better metrics. If you have the time (and bank) to follow both then it is worth doing so to maximise your profits and have some diversity.

Overall then we have been very impressed with Edwards Tips during our 12 month trial. The golf tips really excelled and had some top class winners at prices of over 100/1.

Craig is very helpful and always answers questions which is good to see too.

There was the occasional issue with obtaining prices, which we deal with further below, but all in all it was a very successful trial and we are more than happy to award it a PASSED rating.

Service Breakdown

Ease of use: The selections are sent by e-mail and come out sporadically, starting on Monday for that week’s golf events. That can make it a little tricky to follow as there are lots of tips coming out at various times of day rather than having a single e-mail with the tips. However, Craig does it this way to take advantage of early prices.

Availability of prices: In terms of prices, sometimes it can be difficult to obtain the advised prices as quite a lot of the tips are sent out on Mondays when the markets are quite thin and there are only one or two bookies (usually B365) with odds.

However, there are always exchanges to use where you can usually get the win odds if you are okay with slightly worse place terms.

Overall we didn’t see this affecting the results too much, but was just an occasional issue where a price had gone by the time we got to put a bet on. You should be able to get close to the official results with a few bookie accounts and use of the exchanges in any event.

Strike rate: The strike rate varied quite a bit by the type of tip, with the golf outright being fairly low at 9% but the snooker being higher at 30%.

Advised Betting Bank: Craig recommends a 100 point bank for following the service, which for once we would say is actually very conservative compared to many tipsters who use banks that are far too risky.

He reduced his staking during covid to be on the safe side as form became a little unpredictable, but doesn’t seem to have put it back up again since. Therefore putting say 0.1pt e/w on a golf selection from a 100 point bank is a very small stake.

We do think there’s an argument for making the stakes more uniform with other services at standard 1pt e/w etc – and then maybe having something like a 200 point bank. At the same time we appreciate Craig may not want to do so as it could mess up his results given the smaller staking he has used up until now.

Subscription costs: The current subscription costs at the time of writing are very reasonable given the results achieved, at £34.99 per month for both services or £19.99 per month for either the golf or snooker.

OVERALL VERDICT: PASSED

Edwards Tips is a golf and snooker tipping service from a former snooker pro, Craig Edwards. We ran an extended 12 month trial and the tips performed excellently, making 40 points profit

The staking is very small at just 0.15 on average per selection, so to make it comparable with most services we review, you could times those stakes by 10 and the profit would then be 400 points.

That profit was made entirely by the golf tips during our trial however, as the snooker tips finished marginally down.

Overall though it was a superb trial and we are very happy to award Edwards Tips a PASSED rating.

Edwards Tips – Results Update

9th July 2022

Golf & snooker service Edwards Tips continues to roll along nicely, with a profit of 1 point made since our last update.

It’s worth noting that the staking with this service is very low. The average stake so far for example is just 0.15 points. So it might be reasonable to times the stakes by 10 to get them on par with most services we review here.

On that basis the profit so far would actually be a very impressive 350 points.

Recent winners include Bobby Shelton at the BMW Pro-Am at 50/1 and Denny McCarthy for a top 10 place at the US Open at 23/1.

As mentioned last time it’s really the golf that has made all the profit during our trial, although historically the results from the snooker are also very good.

There’s been a separation in terms of the golf and snooker results however, with the former delivering virtually all of the profits for our trial – 339 points versus just 1 point. So it looks like the golf tips are the ones to focus on really.

The golf profits include a massive 125/1 winner in the shape of KH Lee at the Byron Nelson a few weeks ago, plus there have been a host of placed finishes at big odds as well. Impressive stuff and long may it continue.

We saw some of them in action at the World Championships for example, where Craig made a commendable 30 points profit over the event (including qualifiers).

Things really came good for them last month when they picked out Hudson Swafford at 250/1 for the American Express tournament.

Edwards Tips – Results Update

15th January 2022

A small decline for golf & snooker service Edwards Tips over the last month, with a loss of 3 points made since our last update.

12th November 2021

A small improvement for golf & snooker service Edwards Tips over the last month, with a profit of 1 point made since our last update.

That means they are now 13 points up for our trial overall.

You can view full results here (please note the golf and snooker results are in separate tabs).

As mentioned in previous updates, the staking with this service is very low. The average stake so far for example is just 0.15 points. So it might be reasonable to times the stakes by 10 to get them on par with most services we review here.

On that basis the profit so far would actually be an excellent 130 points.

Just to note that the figures for the service for 2021 are as follows:-

  • Overall: 2187 bets, ROI 18.71%
  • Golf Outright: 708 bets, 38.44% ROI
  • Golf Place: 512 bets, -0.64% ROI
  • Snooker: 922 bets, 15.15% ROI

So it was really the golf place that dragged the ROI down a little, in particular in the first half of the year. However, the overall stats are still very commendable with an ROI of 19% and the golf outright bets had an excellent year with a 38% ROI.

Here’s to more of that in 2022!

There have been a few placed finishes since our last update but no big winners, although they were very close to a 50/1 winner with Adri Arnaus at the Open de Espana last week who missed a short putt for the win and then lost in a playoff.

That was pretty unlucky to say the least but that is golf betting for you. Very small margins are involved, but the luck tends to balance out in the long run (or so they say!).

Edwards Tips – Results Update

8th September 2021

It’s been an excellent start to our trial of golf & snooker service Edwards Tips, with a profit of 19 points made so far after one month.

So the trial couldn’t have got off to a better start really. If you planning on joining the service we would appreciate it if you could mention you heard about Edwards from here.

Edwards Tips – New Review

7th August 2021

We are starting a new trial today of a service called Edwards Tips.

This is a combined golf and snooker service where you can subscribe to either or both sets of tips.

The results published on Craig’s website are excellent, with 746 points profit made at a return on investment of over 30%.

That includes some massive winners at prices of up to 250/1.

The breakdown in profit by sport is that the golf tips have contributed 610 points profit whilst the snooker has provided 143 points profit.

We followed the service in a personal capacity last year and can vouch that the results on the website for last year are accurate.

Craig tips in a variety of markets, including top 20 and outright on the golf, and match odds, player centuries, handicaps and other markets on the snooker.

The main snooker season is just about to get underway so it’s a good time to start a review from that point of view.

We will of course update results here as we along.

In the meantime you can check out Edwards Tips for yourself here.

Racing Intelligence – Full Review

Every once in a while here at Honest Betting Reviews we come across a real gem of a service – something that works a little differently from the many other services we see day-in, day-out and that’s found an angle to generate consistent, long-term profit.

Coming into our trial we felt that could be the case with Racing Intelligence – and for once we are pleased to say we weren’t disappointed!

Racing Intelligence is a little different to most other services in that it does not rely on form reading, ratings or any of the traditional ways that tipsters operate. In fact, it is not really a “tipster” at all. Instead its selections are provided by an inside man at one of the leading UK bookmakers who gets to see where all the “smart money” is being placed for that day’s racing.

He gets to see where the big gambles are going, the professional money is being placed and where there is likely to be significant value. That info is then passed straight on to members of the service.

Normally we would be skeptical of such claims of “inside info” but on this occasion we have no doubt whatsoever this is the real deal.

Not only have we seen the results prior to our trial proofed by a reputable source elsewhere, which showed 672 points profit coming into our review, but now we have six months of own proofed results and wow have we been impressed!

A superb 192 points profit was made at advised prices during our six-month trial, which represents a very nearly doubling of the advised betting bank of 200 points.

As you can see from the profit graph below, they were never really in deficit and built strongly over the middle part of the trial with another burst at the end:-

Those results were achieved with a very good strike rate of 40% (including placed horses) and a commendable ROI of 19%.

At Betfair SP the results were solid too, with a nice 76 points profit made during our trial.

The consistency is excellent too, with 10 out of 12 months this year having been profitable and 23 out of 30 months overall having made a profit.

So we have no hesitation in awarding this service a PASSED rating and giving it our first five star award for some time.

As we say, we like that they approach betting from a different angle of looking at where the smart money is being placed rather than typical form study and it’s clear this information has huge value.

It’s credit to Matthew Walton (who runs the service) for having found this source of information and we can only hope both the source and Matthew continue sharing the info for a long time to come!

Service Breakdown

Ease of use: The tips are sent out during morning of racing and come in individually as the information is received, as it is obviously “hot off the press” so is passed on straight away for members to snap up the value. That means you’ll sometimes get three or four e-mails (or texts if you choose that option) during the morning at various times, with Matthew then summarising the day’s bets in one final e-mail, usually around lunchtime or shortly before racing starts.

With an average of 1-2 bets per day following the service isn’t too onerous by any means.

Availability of prices: Prices do tend to get pushed in so we recommend taking early prices if you can, but as stated above the service is still profitable at BSP so is practical to follow even if you don’t have bookie accounts.

Strike rate: The strike rate for the trial was 40% (including placed horses) which is more than acceptable and is very close to the long-term strike rate for the service of 39%.

Advised Betting Bank: A 200 point bank is recommended for following the service which seems a reasonable amount to us and was certainly never in jeopardy at any stage of our trial.

Subscription costs: The subscription costs are high, but that is understandable given the quality of information being received and it also helps protect prices for members. The subscription costs are £58.20 for the first month then £97+VAT per month after that.

There is a full money-back guarantee for the first 30 days.

OVERALL VERDICT: PASSED

With a profit of 192 points made at advised prices during our six month trial, to go with the profits stacked up previously (which have been proofed by a reputable source elsewhere), Racing Intelligence has made a total of over 850 points profit betting each-way or over 1,100 points profit if betting win-only since starting up two and a half years ago.

Those are outstanding results and we are more than happy to award this a PASSED rating and to place it right towards the very top of our list of recommended horse racing services.

The subscription costs are high so you will need a decent-sized bank to make it worthwhile, but if you have that then this really is a service to get on board with and start profiting from the invaluable info it provides.

And the good news is we’ve managed to negotiate an exclusive discount for HBR readers of 50% off the first month’s subscription which you can get here.

Racing Intelligence – Results Update

30th November 2019

A little bit of a correction for Racing Intelligence this month, with a loss of 14 points made at advised prices since our last update.

The good news though is that they are still 153 points up at advised prices for our trial overall after the excellent previous results.

You can view full results here.

At Betfair SP they have lost 8 points since our last update but are still 65 points up for our trial overall.

As Matthew points out on the emails, it is important to keep a long-term mindset and not let a small drawdown this month detract from the long-term picture which has been very good indeed.

Racing Intelligence – Results Update

28th October 2019

It’s been a cracking time for Racing Intelligence since our last update, with a whopping 109 points profit made at advised prices over the last five weeks.

That means they are now an excellent 167 points up for our trial overall at advised prices.

You can view full results here.

Things have also been progressing well at BSP, with another 73 points profit made since our last update and 84 points profit made for our trial overall.

It’s great to see a service living up to its pre-trial billing and delivering some excellent results under live conditions. This is looking like a really top service in the making.

Racing Intelligence – Results Update

19th September 2019

It’s been a solid month for Racing Intelligence, with 9 points profit made at advised prices since our last update.

That means they are now 58 points up for our trial overall at advised prices.

You can view full results here.

The good news is they are now up at Betfair SP for our review aswell, with 17 points made since our last update and 11 points profit made for our trial overall.

It’s been a bit up and down during the review in truth, with a high of 87 points up followed by dropping down to just 3 points up, and then bouncing back again to 58 points up. For those with an appropriate betting bank and a long-term mindset that wouldn’t have been a problem, but unfortunately for those who dropped out after the losing run they have now missed out on the subsequent profits.

Anyway, as we say overall the results have been good so let’s look for them to kick on from here.

Racing Intelligence – Results Update

15th August 2019

More profits for Racing Intelligence since our last update, with another 19 points profit added at advised prices over the past month.

That means they are now 49 points up for our trial overall at advised prices.

You can view full results here.

At Betfair SP it continues to be a bit more of a struggle. Although a profit of 2 points was made since our last update, they are still 6 points down at BSP for our trial overall.

Their long term BSP results are very good so this may just be a small blip but we will keep an eye on it and hopefully they will have moved into profit at Betfair SP aswell by the time of our next update.

Racing Intelligence – Results Update

10th July 2019

It’s been a strong start to our trial of Racing Intelligence, with a profit of 30 points made so far to advised prices after one month.

You can view full results here.

At Betfair SP things haven’t been quite as good, with a loss of 8 points made for our trial so far.

Just a note that the Racing Intelligence spy has been working away for the past 10 days, this has meant it’s been very quiet on the betting front lately but he is due to return shortly so we expect the pace to pick up next week.

Still, a good start all in all from this service.

Racing Intelligence – New Review

10th June 2019

Today we are looking at a new racing service called Racing Intelligence and we have to say we are more than intrigued by its proposition.

Whilst regular readers will know we are generally sceptical of tipsters claiming they have special access to “inside info,” this one comes with an interesting twist on that idea – and has the results to back it up.

Normally we dismiss talk of “inside info” because frankly despite having seen dozens of tipsters claim they have access to it, we are yet to see a single one of those tipsters actually deliver a long-term profit. In short most of it is just marketing BS.

Those tipsters who do make a consistent profit – like Quentin Franks, the Bet Alchemist and so on – do so due to hours of hard work and diligence in how they study races and form.

In the case of this tipster however, the “inside info” they claim to use is a little different – it is actually the bookies’ inside info.

So rather than looking to gather information from stables, trainers and so on, they are apparently able to gather intell directly from inside a bookie, as they work for one.

Inside this bookie they see the winning accounts of their elite customers and which bets those customers are placing – referred to as “markers” in the industry  – and then pass on those bets to subscribers to place themselves.

The results of the service – which have been proofed elsewhere – are absolutely top-notch and suggest this approach is highly effective.

Since starting up two years ago they have made a superb 672 points profit at general bookies’ prices if betting each-way and an incredible 933 points profit if betting win-only.

Those have been achieved with returns on investment of 24% and 34% respectively,  which is top-class stuff.

In addition they have demonstrated a remarkable level of consistency, with 19 of their 24 months so far having been profitable.

The really good news though is that the service is even profitable at Betfair SP, with a profit of 364 points made betting win and place on the exchange and 571 points if betting win-only at BSP.

Those are the some of the best BSP results we have seen and if they can be repeated during a live trial will mean this service may well achieve the “holy-grail” of being able to generate a substantial profit at Betfair.

That remains to be seen of course so we will reserve our judgement until we have seen the service in action and what kind of results it achieves.

So we will run a standard three-month trial and will report back soon on how things are going.

In the meantime you can check out Racing Intelligence for yourself here.

20 Minute System – Full Review

The 20 Minute System is a piece of software that automatically scans the bookmaker and Betfair markets to find value on the each-way golf markets.

It is the latest system from perennial systems developer Mike Cruickshank, who long-term followers will know we are big fans of.

Mike was the original matched betting guru, releasing the excellent Bonus Bagging and then Profit Maximiser packages, giving punters the tools to match-bet successfully and finally put one over on the bookies. Those systems were then copied by countless other system developers.

Over the years Mike has continued to innovate however and with this latest system he has turned his eye to the niche of each-way golf betting. With the bookies offering top 8 for the place – and even top 10 or 11 in majors – there is the potential for real value these days on the golf markets.

The trick of course is in finding the specific players who represent value and that is what the 20 Minute System aims to do. It scans the markets to identify those instances where the place part of the bet in particular represents value, taking into account the win and place odds on Betfair as a point of comparison.

The system is purely markets-based and does not consider form or stats like some of the other golf strategies we have reviewed here. It is actually based on the same concepts as the Each-Way Sniper software for horse racing, which we have reviewed – and passed – here at HBR.

In terms of using the software, it’s pretty simple. Just log on – Tuesdays and Wednesdays are best – check the software as to whether it has any selections, then go and place the bets.

Here is an example from the software – with the player(s), bookie and odds recommended. The number on the left is the EV rating and it is recommended to only take selections with a rating over 110 (which means 10% value).

Some weeks, particularly for the majors, there are a lot of selections so it can took longer than 20 minutes to place the bets. On other quieter weeks though there can be just a handful and it can take less. Either way it isn’t a difficult system to use and in reality whether it’s 20 minutes per week or 30-40, the workload is pretty low.

Anyway, all that is great in theory but it means nothing if the results don’t stack up. Fortunately though, after a nine month trial we are pleased to say that the results certainly did stack up – very well in fact!

Yes, with a superb 302 points profit made during our trial, it couldn’t have gone much better really.

That was achieved with a strike rate of 10%, which isn’t unusual for golf services, but a whopping return on investment of 54%, one of the best we’ve ever seen in a trial.

There were a host of winners and placed selections at huge odds during our review, including:-

  • Collin Morikawa – WON the Open Championship @ 33/1
  • Abraham Ancer – WON the WGC Fedex St Jude @ 45/1
  • Kiradech Aphibarnrat – PLACED at the BMW PGA @ 175/1
  • Keith Mitchell – PLACED at the CJ Cup @ 250/1
  • James Morrison – PLACED at the Andalucia Masters @ 250/1
  • Thriston Lawrence – WON the Joburg Open @ 200/1
  • Luke List – WON the Farmers Insurance Open @ 80/1
  • Russell Knox – PLACED at the Players Championship @ 225/1
  • Scottie Scheffler – WON the Masters @ 18/1

As you can see then, some fantastic winners and placed selection throughout the trial at very juicy odds.

We haven’t included the Betfair results here as they are difficult to track, especially in the place market as Betfair offer top 5 and 10 rather than 7/8 places, but certainly on the win part of the bet you can normally beat the bookies’ odds. On the 100/1+ selections you can often get significantly better odds at Betfair.

Balancing the two parts out we imagine you would get similar results overall using Betfair, although as we say having not recorded the results we cannot be sure about that.

Anyway, all in all it’s been a very successful trial for the 20 Minute System and it’s a clear PASSED rating from us.

Service Breakdown

Ease of use: The selections are available via logging in to the 20 Minute System software on Tuesday and Wednesday. It shouldn’t take too long to place the selections – sometimes it’s over 20 minutes on major weeks but not normally much longer than that.

Availability of prices: Prices are generally available and we didn’t see any problems obtaining the recommended odds.

Strike rate: The strike rate for the trial was 10%, which is quite low in general terms but not unusual for a golf service, which often have low strike rates due to the odds tipped at.

Advised Betting Bank: A 400 point betting bank is recommended for the service which seems very much adequate to us.

Subscription costs: The current subscription costs are £99 + VAT for 12 months.

OVERALL VERDICT: PASSED

Once again Mike Cruickshank smashes it out the park (or should we say off the tee…) with another superb betting system.

This one, which is specifically for the each-way markets in golf, made a fantastic 302 points profit at a huge ROI of 54%, one of the highest ever in a trial here at HBR.

So it’s no surprise that it’s a conclusive PASSED rating for the 20 Minute System and a full five stars. Grab it while you can.

20 Minute System – Results Update

5th March 2022

The 20 Minute System is a piece of software that automatically scans the bookmaker and Betfair markets to find value on the each-way golf markets.

There’s been a small step backwards for the system over the last month, with 36 points lost since our last update.

However it is still an excellent 276 points up for our trial overall.

You can view full results here.

It was inevitable there would be a bit of a drop at some point as the system couldn’t go on churning out huge profits forever – golf betting is inherently very volatile as we often say.

Hopefully it will just be a small blip though and we’ll be back to winning ways again soon.

20 Minute System – Results Update

1st February 2022

The 20 Minute System is a piece of software that automatically scans the bookmaker and Betfair markets to find value on the each-way golf markets.

The system continues to absolutely crush it, with another 52 points profit made since our last update.

That means it is now 312 points up for our trial overall.

You can view full results here.

The system landed yet another winner last weekend with Luke List capturing the Farmers Insurance Open at 80/1.

That’s on top of 200/1, 45/1 and 33/1 winners already during our trial and numerous placed finishes at over 100/1 (and a few over 200/1).

Quite remarkable stuff really and this is well on course to be one of our best trials ever.

20 Minute System – Results Update

7th December 2021

The 20 Minute System is a piece of software that automatically scans the bookmaker and Betfair markets to find value on the each-way golf markets.

The system has smashed it out the park recently, with a massive 185 points profit made since our last update.

That means it is now 260 points up for our trial overall.

You can view full results here.

Most of that profit came from Thirston Lawrence winning the Joburg Open at a huge 200/1, much to the delight of members.

It will be a bit quiet now for the system with little golf to speak of until the new year, but hopefully it can pick up where it left off with more profit in 2022.

20 Minute System – Results Update

5th November 2021

The 20 Minute System is a piece of software that automatically scans the bookmaker and Betfair markets to find value on the each-way golf markets.

It has continued its impressive form, notching another 31 points profit since our last update.

That means it is now 75 points up for our trial overall.

You can view full results here.

There have been some huge priced selections that have placed over the last month, including Keith Mitchell and James Morrison, both at 250/1. Even just the place part of that bet is like a big winner at those odds.

Just a note that our reviewer missed a couple of events due to personal circumstances so members able to take the bets for those events will have slightly different results to us.

Anyway, good to see the continued success here, the 20 Minute System is doing exactly what it says on the tin!

20 Minute System – Results Update

5th October 2021

The 20 Minute System is a piece of software that automatically scans the bookmaker and Betfair markets to find value on the each-way golf markets.

It has continued to perform well over the last month, adding another 14 points profit since our last update.

That means it is now 44 points up for our trial overall.

You can view full results here.

There have been a few tasty place finishes recently including at prices of 175/1 for Kiradech Aphibarnrat, 100/1 for Darius van Driel and 125/1 for Patrick Rodgers (those prices are the win prices so the place part is obviously a quarter or fifth of that).

Hopefully more of that to come…plus a winner or two would be great!

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

20 Minute System – Results Update

2nd September 2021

Not much change for golf betting system the 20 Minute System over the last month, with a profit of 2 points made since our last update.

That means it is now 30 points up for our trial overall.

You can view full results here.

Just a reminder that this is a piece of software that automatically scans the bookmaker and Betfair markets to find value on the each-way golf markets.

The sole success over the last month was Abraham Ancer at the WGC Fedex event at odds of 45/1.

Other than that there haven’t been any winners or placed finishes, but that isn’t unusual for golf services. The main thing is that it’s well up for our trial to date.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

20 Minute System – Results Update

30th July 2021

It’s been a good start to our trial of golf betting system the 20 Minute System, with a profit of 28 points made so far.

You can view full results here.

Just a reminder that this is a piece of software that automatically scans the bookmaker and Betfair markets to find value on the each-way golf markets.

You have to put the bets on yourself and all bets are placed with the bookies – Betfair is used just as a point of comparison by the software.

It’s interesting that even though it picked the winner for the Open Championship in Collin Morikawa at 33/1 and had a number of other placed finishes, it still made a small loss for the event.

That’s because the software found a whopping 38 selections for the Open, as for the majors the bookies offer extra places up to 11 positions, which is huge value for the punter (and we understand a loss-leader for the bookies).

That’s not normal and for a bog-standard PGA Tour event you can expect a much smaller number of selections. The following week for example was the 3M Open and there were only four selections. Thankfully one of them was Keith Mitchell at 200/1 who managed a full place payout.

Anyway, nice to see the system working as advertised so far.

20 Minute System – New Review

12th July 2021

We are starting a new trial today of a betting strategy called The 20 Minute System.

This is the latest system from perennial systems developer Mike Cruickshank, who as long-term followers will know we are big fans of.

Mike was the original matched betting guru, releasing the excellent Bonus Bagging and then Profit Maximiser, giving punters the tools to match-bet successfully and finally put one over on the bookies. Those systems were then copied by countless other system developers.

Mike has gone on to develop more and more sophisticated systems however, most notably his Each Way Sniper Auto Software. It’s an ingenious piece of software that places bets for you automatically with the bookies. You can read our full review of that one here.

His latest system as we say is The 20 Minute System, which is a golf system. It has reportedly made a very impressive 519 points profit in 18 months at one-point level stakes, which is excellent stuff.

At £20 per bet that would equate to £10,380 profit.

The “20 minutes” refers to the time it supposedly takes to place the bets each week, which is something we like the sound of. That’s one of the benefits of golf betting in that with only two tournaments per week normally it can be a fairly low-workload sport to bet on.

You will need bookie accounts to follow this system – and preferably a few of them. The good news though is that supposedly you can use gubbed accounts. That may be because you can follow the system with small £1 stakes and still make a decent profit.

In any event, we will learn more as we get into the trial and start using the system ourselves. We will look to get going next week, which will be good timing as it happens to be the Open Championship!

Anyway, as ever we will update results here as we go along.

In the meantime you can check out The 20 Minute System for yourself here.

Lucrative MMA Betting Tipster – Full Review

The sport of MMA (mixed martial arts) is becoming more popular these days, with big fights in the UFC receiving big audiences and some of the stars becoming celebrities.

With this popularity has of course come more betting interest and most bookies now price up markets for the big fights.

And of course, with there being a decent amount of betting, there are now some budding new tipsters emerging in the field.

One such tipster we have just completed a review of is the Lucrative MMA Betting Tipster.

We ended up following this tipster for 24 months in total, which is one of the longest reviews we have conducted here at HBR.

Partly that was because we were following the tips in a personal capacity before launching the formal review.

In any event, it gave us a very good sample size of over 820 bets for the review.

And over that time the results stood up very well, with 159 points profit being made in total.

As you can see from the graph below, it was very steady progress throughout the trial, with only a slight dip towards the end (but signs of a turnaround 0ver the last few bets):

The strike rate was very healthy at 44% and the return on investment (ROI) solid at 10%.

They also have some YouTube content available, which you can check out here.

Overall then it’s been a very successful trial and we are happy to award the Lucrative MMA Betting Tipster a PASSED rating.

Service Breakdown

Ease of use: The tips are available through logging into the website and are generally posted early in the week (Monday and Tuesday) with some other bets coming later in the week.

Availability of prices: Prices are generally available, although on some of the more niche markets they can be affected so it’s helpful to have a variety of bookie accounts and to act quickly upon tips being posted.

Strike rate: The strike rate for the trial was 44%, which is very solid and meant a steady stream of winners throughout the trial.

Advised Betting Bank: We couldn’t see a recommended betting bank for the service but used a 150 point bank for the purposes of our trial. Staking is quite variable, ranging from 0.1 points all the way up to 11 points, so that is something to be aware of. The average stake is 1.8 points though so a 150 point bank with the high strike rate seems reasonable to us.

Subscription costs: The subscription costs at the time of writing are $96 per month, $279 per quarter, $499 for six months or $759 per year. Those are a little on the high side, although in the MMA space are not unusual and in fact cheaper than some alternatives.

OVERALL VERDICT: PASSED

We ran an extended 24 month trial of the Lucrative MMA Betting Tipster, and it performed very well, producing 159 points profit in total.

That was achieved with a strong strike rate of 44% and a solid ROI of 10%. We are happy to award the service a PASSED rating therefore and is well worth checking out if you are a fan of MMA – or even if you’re not!

It’s been a fairly quiet time in the world of MMA but there are lots of fixtures this weekend and the tipster has lots of bets lined up.

Hopefully with lots of action coming up they can also kick on again.

Lucrative MMA Betting Tipster – New Review

28th October 2020

The sport of MMA (mixed martial arts) is becoming more popular these days, with big fights in the UFC receiving big audiences and some of the stars becoming celebrities.

With this popularity has of course come more betting interest and most bookies now price up markets for the big fights.

And of course, with there being a decent amount of betting, there are now some promising tipsters emerging in the field.

We are looking at one such tipster today, namely the Lucrative MMA Betting Tipster

This is a service that has been running for just over a year now and has amassed some very impressive results with 265 points profit made to date.

That has been achieved with an excellent return on investment of 27% and a high strike rate of 53%, so over half of the bets so far have been winners.

We have actually been receiving the tips since January so can verify those results. There are detailed write-ups for the tips from which you can see that James, who runs the service, has a great knowledge of MMA.

So we will formally kick off our review today but will include results from when we started receiving the tips. Updates will be posted here as we go along as usual.

In the meantime you can check out the Lucrative MMA Betting Tipster for yourself here.

Goal King – Full Review

The Goal King is a football tipping service run by a guy called Steve Hudson. He has been a professional tipster for 6 years and has been betting for 13 years. He also runs another tipping service, AccaTipster, which has been going for a few years.

The Goal King focuses on the Both Teams to Score (BTS) and Over 2.5 goals markets, with some bets in the Asian handicap market too.

We followed the service for an extended 12 month trial, which gave us a good sample size of 388 bets.

It’s a fairly straightforward service, with bets normally sent out twice per week by e-mail – one for the midweek fixtures and then one for the weekend games.

At the end of our trial they finished with a solid total of 43 points profit, which came at a strike rate of 59% and a return on investment of 3%.

The trial got off to a slightly rocky start but gradually improved as it went on, as you can see in the profit graph:

One of the elements of the service we remarked on a few times during our review was the staking, which started off at 5 points per bet, then reduced to 1 point over the Summer before settling at 2.5 points per bet for the 2021/22 season.

We prefer services that just use one point level stakes, or at least if they are going to use larger stakes then it would be for more confident selections. Here though it just seemed to be a way of slightly inflating results, as all selections over a given period used the same staking.

Not that it makes too much of a difference in the grand scheme of things – that is why we have stats like ROI so you can see how the returns compare to the stakes used.

And in the end a solid profit was made which is never to be sniffed at, so we are happy to award this service a narrow PASSED rating after a 12 month trial.

Service Breakdown

Ease of use: The tips are sent by e-mail, usually twice per week (if there are midweek fixtures). There is usually plenty of time to get the bets on and recommended bookies are included with the best prices.

Availability of prices: We didn’t notice any particular issues in terms of the prices, with the markets tipped in (BTS & over/under 2.5 goals) being very liquid normally.

Strike rate: The strike rate for the trial was 59%, which is close to the long-term average of 61% and meant a steady stream of winners throughout the trial.

Advised Betting Bank: We didn’t see any bank being advised but used a 100 point betting bank for the trial taking into account the staking per bet and high strike rate of 59%.

Subscription costs: The subscription costs at the time of writing are very reasonable at £14.95 per month or £67 per year.

OVERALL VERDICT: PASSED

The Goal King is a football tipster who focuses on the Both Teams to Score and over/under 2.5 goals markets.

We ran an extended 12 month trial of the service and it made a solid 43 points profit. Whilst that wasn’t a huge return in the grand scheme of things, any form of profit is not to be sniffed at so we are happy to award the service a narrow PASSED rating.

Goal King – Results Update

14th November 2021

Football tipster the Goal King has bounced back nicely over the last month, with 11 points profit made since our last update.

That means they are now 44 points up for our trial overall.

You can view full results here.

There have been a lot of BTS (both teams to score) bets lately, which along with over/under bets are the mainstay of the service.

With international matches there are a lot of low-scoring games so going low on those has tended to pay off well for the Goal King.

———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Goal King – Results Update

13th October 2021

There’s been a slight downturn for football tipster the Goal King over the last month, with 25 points lost since our last update.

That means they are now 33 points up for our trial overall.

You can view full results here.

We have discussed in previous updates how staking has varied over the course of our trial, but it seems to have settled at 2.5 points per bet for the time being, having been 5 points at the start and then dropping to 1 point over the summer.

Anyway, let’s see if they get back to winning ways by the time of our next update.

———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Goal King – Results Update

10th September 2021

The solid form has continued for football tipster the Goal King over the last month, with an additional 12 points profit made since our last update.

That means they are now 58 points up for our trial overall.

You can view full results here.

The staking has varied quite a bit recently. It had been five points per bet for most of our trial, then dropped down to one point during the off-season and is now at 2.5 points per bet, presumably as we are in the early part of the season whilst they wait for the form to settle down.

In any event it has been good to see the steady upward progress made over the last few months by this footy tipster.

———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Goal King – Results Update

12th August 2021

Football tipster the Goal King has continued their good form recently, adding another 14 points profit since our last update.

That means they are now 46 points up for our trial overall.

You can view full results here.

As previously mentioned, the staking is inflated at 5 points on most selections, so in reality the returns would be quite a bit lower if using 1 point level stakes. Although during the off season they were using just 1 point stakes and made a decent 11 points profit whilst doing so.  Now the season is getting going again they are back to using 5 points once more.

The action should really crank up now with the all the European leagues kicking off again, including the Premier League tomorrow.

———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Goal King – Results Update

9th July 2021

It’s been a good run for football tipster the Goal King recently, with 24 points profit made since our last update.

That means they are now 32 points up for our trial overall.

You can view full results here.

As mentioned previously, the staking is inflated at 5 points on every selection, so in reality they would be just 6-8 points up at one point level stakes.

However, since the end of the main season they have reduced staking to one point per bet and since then they are 3 points up.

Will probably be a bit of a quiet phase for them now as the Euros come to an end and we wait for the start of the new season.

———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Goal King – Results Update

13th May 2021

Not much change for football tipster the Goal King recently, with just 3 points profit made since our last update a month ago.

That means they are now 8 points up for our trial overall.

You can view full results here.

With the footy season finishing in a couple of weeks we will look to wrap up our review there when the action has come to a close. Let’s see if they can put in a good end to the trial and finish in the green.

———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Goal King – Results Update

15th April 2021

There has been something of a step backwards for football tipster the Goal King lately, with a loss of 22 points made since our last update.

That means they are now just 5 points up for our trial overall.

You can view full results here.

As mentioned last time, the staking is inflated at 5 points on every selection, so in reality they would be just 1 point up at one point level stakes.

This trial has struggled to get going really, but we will continue to track it to the end of the season to see if it can finish off in style at least.

———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Goal King – Results Update

13th March 2021

It’s been a good turnaround for footy tipster the Goal King, with a profit of 56 points made since our last update a month ago.

That means they are now 27 points up for our trial overall.

You can view full results here.

As mentioned last time, the staking is inflated at 5 points on every selection, so in reality they would be just over 5 points up at one point level stakes.

Still, it’s been good to witness the fightback here to get themselves into the green so let’s see if that continues.

———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Goal King – Results Update

12th February 2021

More losses unfortunately for the Goal King in recent times, with another 21 points dropped since our last update at the end of December.

That means they are now 29 points down for our trial overall.

You can view full results here.

As mentioned last time, the staking is inflated at 5 points on every selection. This is actually doing them a disservice at the moment, as at 1 point stakes they would only be 6 points down, which isn’t too bad in the grand scheme of things.

Hopefully this will be a lesson to this and other services that unnecessarily inflate their staking to make their results look better that it can also go the other way and make your results look worse. Stick to one point staking and everyone is happy.

Goal King – Results Update

31st December 2020

It’s been a little bit of a disappointing start to our trial of the Goal King, with a loss of 8 points made so far since they went live.

You can view full results here.

There are a few things that have given us concerns about this service.

Firstly, there have been quite a few instances of the website not working and we know a number of you have found this issue as well, with just a blank screen appearing and nothing happening. Sometimes it can be worth trying it in a different browser if you are getting this issue.

Secondly, the headline on the website states: “Football expert reveals secret goal betting system that makes £24,367 in 7 months,” but we are yet to have any “secret system” revealed to us. So far it’s just a straightforward tipster service offering tips on the BTS, over/under and Asian handicap markets.

And thirdly they stake 5 points on every selection. This is a real bugbear of ours when tipsters do this as it just looks like they are trying to inflate their results. Why not just stake 1 point on every selection? Essentially you need to divide the total by five to give a proper reflection of their results.

Anyway, these niggles of ours could recede somewhat if results were to improve so let’s see if that happens over the next month or two.

Goal King – New Review

4th December 2020

Today we are starting a new review of a football betting strategy called the Goal King.

It has been designed by a guy called Steve Hudson who claims to have made £20,337 profit from it in 7 months, with a 64% win rate and 19.04% ROI.

Every month has apparently been profitable with the longest losing run being just 5 bets. And you can start with just £10.

We will be running a live trial of Goal King at Honest Betting Reviews and are quite intrigued by this one. It claims to have found a “secret goal betting system” which sounds interesting.

As ever the proof of the pudding will be in the eating though!

If you want to check it out in the meantime however you can do so here whilst they currently have a 63% discount on membership.

This offer will close at midnight (GMT) tomorrow 5th December.

The Outside Edge – Full Review

The Outside Edge is a horse racing tipster from the Betting Gods stable of tipsters. They provide tips in UK and Irish flat & jumps racing, with the occasional tip for US racing.

We followed the tips for an extended 14 months, which gave us a very substantial sample size of 1624 bets.

Any tipster that can produce a sustained profit over an extended trial like this is worthy of respect and that is exactly what The Outside Edge managed to do.

A total profit of 269 points was made at advised prices during our trial, which is an excellent amount to have amassed.

That was achieved with a solid strike of 29% (including placed horses) and a respectable ROI of 10%.

In terms of the profit graph over the trial, it was very strong over the early part of the trial with steady upward growth, then moved sideways for a while before quite a substantial dip, but then recovered strongly over the latter part of our trial:

That shows the importance of having a big enough betting bank and the patience to withstand extended drawdowns. Those who stuck with it would have been rewarded with the recent upturn in form over the past couple of months.

Turning to the Betfair SP results, these were quite a bit below the results at advised prices, with a profit of 106 points was made. Whilst still a very good amount to have made at BSP, it is less than half the profit made at advised prices.

So to get the most out of the service you will want to have access to bookie accounts, although it is still viable to follow if you are restricted to using the exchanges.

Overall then with an excellent 269 points profit made for our trial at advised prices, we are happy to award The Outside Edge a PASSED rating.

Service Breakdown

Ease of use: The tips are sent by e-mail, with an update the evening before racing and then another on the morning of racing. With around 4 bets per day on average it’s a little bit of work to follow but not too bad by any means.

Availability of prices: Prices can be quite sensitive, particularly those sent out the evening before racing. There was quite a big difference between the results at advised prices and BSP, which shows the value being achieved early but also the importance of getting bets on quickly.

Strike rate: The strike rate for the trial was 29% (including placed horses), which is pretty good for a horse racing service.

Advised Betting Bank: A 300 point betting bank was advised for following the service, which given the drawdown of around 200 points seems fair, although to be on the safe side a 400 point bank could be advised for this service.

Subscription costs: The subscription costs at the time of writing are £1.99 for the first 15 days then £27 per month, which is very reasonable given the results achieved.

OVERALL VERDICT: PASSED

The Outside Edge is a horse racing tipster that produced an excellent 269 points profit during an extended 14 month trial.

It achieved that with a strike rate of 29% and an ROI of 10%, which are more than respectable statistics. There was quite a substantial drawdown during our trial though, so a large betting bank is required if following the service (at least 300 points).

All in all though it’s been a very successful trial and the service is well worthy of a PASSED rating.

The Outside Edge – Results Update

It’s also been a decent month at Betfair SP, with a profit of 20 points made since our last update. That means they are now 35 points up for our trial overall at BSP.

The highlight over the last month was a cracking 50/1 winner in the shape of Bedouin’s Story at Newmarket, which members obviously very much enjoyed. It was also a decent BSP at 45, so even those without bookie accounts would have landed a nice touch.

The Outside Edge – Results Update

15th September 2021

Unfortunately it’s been a difficult time for horse racing tipster The Outside Edge lately, with a loss of 72 points made at advised prices since our last update.

With the previous profits however they are still 110 points up for our trial overall at advised prices.

It’s also been a rough time lately at Betfair SP, with a loss of 78 points made since our last update. However, they are still 15 points up for our trial overall at BSP.

This review started off really well so it’s a shame it’s turned south over the last couple of months, but they are still well up for our trial overall so let’s hope they get back on track soon.

The Outside Edge – Results Update

14th July 2021

It’s been a quiet month for horse racing tipster The Outside Edge, with a profit of just 1 point made at advised prices since our last update.

That means they are now an excellent 226 points up for our trial overall at advised prices.

It was a bit of a tougher month at Betfair SP though, with a loss of 31 points made since our last update. However, they are still 149 points up for our trial overall at BSP.

We now have a sample size of over 1,000 bets for our trial which is obviously a very good number.

To have produced such good profits over a large sample size like this is a strong indication of a service with a clear edge over the market.

The Outside Edge – Results Update

23rd February 2021

Horse racing tipster The Outside Edge continues to give the bookies a good bashing, adding another 40 points profit at advised prices since our last update.

That means they are now a superb 151 points up for our trial overall at advised prices.

The results at Betfair SP continue to track nicely, with 15 points profit made since our last update and 108 points profit made for our trial overall.

Most bets are 1 points each-way or 1-2 point win bets, with an average stake of 1.7 points per bet, so pretty sensible staking from this tipster.

All in all a lot to like about this service.

The Outside Edge – Results Update

23rd January 2021

It’s been a very good month for horse racing tipster The Outside Edge, with a profit of 48 points made at advised prices since our last update.

That means they are now 111 points up for our trial overall at advised prices.

You can view full results here.

The results at Betfair SP are holding up pretty well, with 23 points profit made since our last update and 93 points profit made for our trial overall at BSP.

These results are particularly impressive when you consider how many tipsters have struggled in recent times with variable ground, cancelled meetings and a revised schedule playing havoc with the form.

Fair play to them and long may it continue.

The Outside Edge – Results Update

22nd December 2020

It’s been a very good start to our trial of horse racing tipster The Outside Edge, with a profit of 63 points made at advised prices after two months.

You can view full results here.

At Betfair SP it’s also been a strong start, with a profit of 70 points made so far. That is down in part to an excellent winner they had on Saturday at Ascot with Not So Sleepy winning at a BSP of 30.36, which really gave them a boost heading into the Xmas period.

Just a reminder that as noted below in our opening of the review, we started receiving tips on 20th October so have recorded results from then.

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

The Outside Edge – New Review

16th November 2020

Today we are stating a new review of a horse racing tipster called The Outside Edge.

This is a tipster from the reputable Betting Gods tipster platform who started proofing their tips back in December 2019, so nearly a year ago now.

In that time they have produced £2,764 profit at £10 per point stakes at a return on investment of over 15%

That works out at an average monthly profit of £276 at the same £10 per point stakes which is very handy indeed.

The strike rate (otherwise known as win rate) is over 30% which is healthy level and should mean there are steady returns (hopefully).

Tips are provided by a chap called Darren and he explains his approach as follows:-

“I like to take a two-pronged approach which is why I send two sets of tips each day. I send my first few tips the evening before – this is where I capture value in the markets. I then send a second round of tips in the morning of racing where I look at market trends to grab some final value for you.”

So two shots at grabbing some value and smashing the bookies, which is encouraging.

We started receiving tips on 20th October so will record results from then. They have started off very strongly so hopefully that will continue for the remainder of our review. Results will be updated here regularly as we go along.

In the meantime you can check out The Outside Edge for yourself here.

Bookie Insiders Golf Tips – Final Review

We have reached the end of our 15 month trial of Bookie Insiders Golf Tips and here are the final results:-

Profit/Loss:  +438 point profit
Strike Rate:   9%
Bank Growth:   52%
ROI:   8%

Bookie Insiders Golf Tips – Full Review

The Bookie Insiders are a team of professional gamblers with previous experience working for some of the top bookmakers. We previously reviewed their football service, which performed very well and achieved a passed rating.

Their golf service is made up of three separate strategies:-

  • Bookmaker each-way bets (much like traditional golf tipsters)
  • Betfair Exchange bets (win-only)
  • Top 20 Bets (players to finish in the Top 20)

Tips are provided by the Telegram messenger app and then downloadable in a spreadsheet.

We followed the service for a full 15 months, which gave us a very thorough look at all aspects of it. When we started our review it was just the top 20 tips but the bookmaker each-way bets and Betfair exchange bets were added in January 2021.

Adding those other strategies was clearly a good decision as they have gone on to produce the lion’s share of the profits.

Here is a breakdown of the profits per system:-

  • Bookmaker each-way bets (from 01.01.21)  +296 points profit
  • Betfair exchange win bets (from 01.01.21): +62 points profit
  • Top 20 bets (from 08.09.20): +81 points profit

So an excellent 438 points profit in total and it’s good to see that all three strategies ended in the green, which is most commendable.

Clearly the bookmaker each-way bets were the most profitable, which is perhaps down in part to the excellent value bookies offer for golf these days, with top 8 generally on most PGA Tour events and even top 10 or 11 on the majors for the place part of the e/w bet.

In terms of the strike rate/ROI stats in the table at the top of the review, those are for all three strategies combined, so it’s worth taking breaking these down by strategy:

Strategy Strike Rate ROI
Bookmaker each-way 9% 9%
Betfair Exchange 1% 5%
Top 20 16% 5%

So the ROI figures are reasonably similar, but it’s the strike rate where there’s really a difference. The Betfair exchange bets had a very low strike rate of just 1%, meaning it’s a service for the very patient and those with big betting banks.

In terms of following the strategies, if you followed all three you would be placing around 100 bets per week, which is probably too much for most people.

We expect therefore most people will want to focus on just one service and on balance it looks like the bookmaker each-way bets would be the ones to go for.

It’s also worth noting that they provide minimum odds to back the selections with across the three strategies, but none of them were profitable at minimum odds so you do need to grab the advised odds when those come out.

Overall though it’s been an excellent trial and with over 400 points profit it’s a definite PASSED rating for Bookie Insiders Golf tips.

Service Breakdown

Ease of use: The tips are sent by the Telegram app and are downloadable via a spreadsheet. They come out gradually for each tournament, with most coming out on Tuesday and Wednesday normally. As mentioned above, following all three strategies would mean placing over 100 bets per week, which we imagine is a little much for most people, so you may wish to focus on just one strategy.

Availability of prices: Generally we found prices to be fairly obtainable, although they can be quite sensitive on the less liquid events like women’s tournaments or Korn Ferry events. Betfair exchange prices tend to move quite quickly so if you are following that strategy it’s a good idea to get on asap.

Strike rate: As mentioned above the combined strike rate for the trial was 9%, but it varied quite a lot by service with the Betfair exchange bets having just a 1% strike rate whilst the Top 20 bets had a 16% strike rate. Either way though patience and an appreciation for natural variance are essential if following any of the strategies.

Advised Betting Bank: The advised betting banks are as follows:-

Top 20 – 200 units (1pt Level Stakes)
Bookmaker EW –  400 units (Advised Stakes)
Betfair Exchange –  250 units (Advised Stakes)

Those look fairly reasonable to us and were never in jeopardy during our trial.

Subscription costs: The subscription costs at the time of writing are €39.99 per month, €129.99 per quarter, €239.99 for six months or €449.99 per year.

OVERALL VERDICT: PASSED

Bookie Insiders Golf Tips provides three types of golf bets as part of their service. Each of them produced a profit during our trial, with a combined total of 438 points profit. Of the three, the bookmaker each-way bets performed the best, with 296 points profit made.

As we always say with golf betting services, it does require a good deal of patience and a substantial betting bank if following a service like this because there will be losing runs along the way.

If you’re prepared for that though then this has proved itself to be a top quality service during our trial and is well worth checking out.

Bookie Insiders Golf – Results Update

29th October 2021

A bit of a backwards step for Golf betting service Bookie Insiders Golf Tips over the last month, with 67 points lost across their three systems since our last update.

However, with the previous gains made they are still 427 points up for our trial overall.

Here is a breakdown of how each of the strategies is faring:

  • Bookmaker each-way bets (from 01.01.21)  +335 points profit
  • Betfair exchange win bets (from 01.01.21): +3 points profit
  • Top 20 bets (from 08.09.20): +89 points profit

You can view full results here (please see the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet for the results for each model).

The good news is that all three strategies are now in profit for our trial, with the Betfair exchange bets turning things around thanks to three big-priced winners in the shape of Jeff Winther at 120, Danny Willett at 120 and Rafa Cabrera Bello at 110.

The bookmaker each-way bets have still been the best so far though with the bulk of the profits made.

Bookie Insiders Golf – Results Update

25th August 2021

A small dip for Golf betting service Bookie Insiders Golf Tips over the last month, with 6 points lost across their three systems since our last update.

That means they are now 494 points up for our trial overall.

Here is a breakdown of how each of the strategies is faring:

  • Bookmaker each-way bets (from 01.01.21)  +414 points profit
  • Betfair exchange win bets (from 01.01.21): -38 points loss
  • Top 20 bets (from 08.09.20): +118 points profit

You can view full results here (please see the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet for the results for each model).

Winners since our last update include Max Homa at the Fortinet Championship at 66/1, Billy Horschel at the BMW PGA Championship at 28/1, Hugo Leon at the British Challenge at 14/1 and Celine Boutier at the Ladies Open de France at 9/1.

As mentioned before there are a lot of bets so it’s quite a bit of work in following this service. Most members may choose to focus on one set of bets to reduce the workload and if so then the Bookmaker each-way bets look like the ones to focus on.

Bookie Insiders Golf – Results Update

24th August 2021

After a cracking few months for Golf betting service Bookie Insiders Golf Tips, they had a bit of a dip over the last month with 41 points lost across their three systems since our last update.

That means they are now 500 points up for our trial overall.

Here is a breakdown of how each of the strategies is faring:

  • Bookmaker each-way bets (from 01.01.21)  +430 points profit
  • Betfair exchange win bets (from 01.01.21): -63 points loss
  • Top 20 bets (from 08.09.20): +133 points profit

You can view full results here (please see the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet for the results for each model).

They did manage to pick last night’s winner Tony Finau at 50/1 on the bookmaker each-way bets which was impressive given he hadn’t won in over five years. Other winners over the last month have included Ryann O’Toole at the Women’s Scottish Open at 125/1 and Erik Van Rooyen at the Barracuda Championship at 33/1.

It’s good to see the Top 20 bets doing well as they were the original bets of the service. The Betfair exchange bets have struggled to really get going, although they are often at very big odds so there can be long waits between winners.

Bookie Insiders Golf – Results Update

22nd July 2021

The superb form continues for Golf betting service Bookie Insiders Golf Tips, with another 216 points profit made across their three systems since our last update.

That means they are now 541 points up for our trial overall.

Here is a breakdown of how each of the strategies is faring:

  • Bookmaker each-way bets (from 01.01.21)  +457 points profit
  • Betfair exchange win bets (from 01.01.21): +4 points profit
  • Top 20 bets (from 08.09.20): + 80 points profit

You can view full results here (please see the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet for the results for each model).

It’s been an astonishing month and they had one weekend where they absolutely lit it up with winners, including:-

  • Cam Davis @ 125/1 – Rocket Mortgage Classic
  • SH Kim @ 100/1 – Japan PGA Championship
  • Lucas Herbert @ 50/1 – Irish Open
  • Jin Young Ko @ 7/1 – Volunteers of America Championship

Add in other winners over the month including Chad Ramey at the Live and Work in Maine Open at 30/1 and Harris English at the Travelers Championship at 40/1 and you have quite a set of results!

As you can see from the figures above, it is the bookmaker each-way bets which are really shining and delivering most of the profit for our trial, so if you had to choose one of the strategies to focus on that looks like being the one.

Bookie Insiders Golf – Results Update

24th June 2021

Golf betting service Bookie Insiders Golf Tips has continued their good recent form, adding another 93 points profit across their three systems since our last update.

That means they are now 325 points up for our trial overall.

Here is a breakdown of how each of the strategies is faring:

  • Top 20 bets (from 08.09.20):  +69 points profit
  • Betfair exchange win bets (from 01.01.21): -46 points loss
  • Bookmaker each-way bets (from 01.01.21): +302 points profit

You can view full results here (please see the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet for the results for each model).

Recent winners include Jason Kokrak at the Charles Schwab Challenge at 60/1, Nelly Korda at the Meijer LPGA Classic at 22/1, Marcus Armitage at the European Open at 130 (Betfair) and Bernd Wiesberger at the Made in Himmerland at 25 (Betfair).

They also had a few chances going into the final round of the US Open last week with Russell Henley at 570 and Louis Oostuizen at 60 leading going into the final round, but sadly it didn’t quite pan out for them as Louis finished second whilst Henley had a tough final day under the pressure.

Still, very positive results over the last couple of months and plenty more top quality golf to come with the Open Championship next month.

Bookie Insiders Golf – Results Update

25th May 2021

It’s been a better run lately for Bookie Insiders Golf Tips, with a profit of 239 points made across their three systems since our last update.

That means for each of their three strategies, the totals for our trial overall stand at:

  • – Top 20 bets (from 08.09.20):  +30 points profit
  • – Betfair exchange win bets (from 01.01.21): -118 points loss
  • – Bookmaker each-way bets (from 01.01.21): +320 points profit

You can view full results here (please see the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet for the results for each model).

That means that across their three systems they are now 232 points up for our trial overall.

Highlights recently have come in the bookmaker each-way bets, with a 150/1 winner last week in Cameron Young and a monster 750/1 winner with Tyson Alexander winning the Veritex Bank Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour.

Those have helped smarten up results considerably and put the bookie e/w bets well ahead. They look like the ones to follow, as the Betfair bets have struggled and the Top 20 bets have been in decline for a while, albeit still up for our trial overall.

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

Bookie Insiders Golf – Results Update

22nd April 2021

The tough run continues for Bookie Insiders Golf Tips unfortunately, with a loss of 212 points made across their three systems since our last update.

That means for each of their three strategies, the totals for our trial overall stand at:

  • – Top 20 bets (from 08.09.20):  -35 point loss
  • – Betfair exchange win bets (from 01.01.21): -45 point loss
  • – Bookmaker each-way bets (from 01.01.21): +73 points profit

You can view full results here (please see the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet for the results for each model).

That means that unfortunately across their three systems they are now 7 points down for our trial overall.

The one bright spot is the bookmaker each-way bets, which are still 73 points up overall and had a 66/1 winner last week with John Catlin at the Austrian Open.

The other systems have struggled though, which is not uncommon in golf betting to have long losing runs but it’s hard on subscribers so let’s hope for a turnaround soon.

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

Bookie Insiders Golf – Results Update

22nd March 2021

It’s been a tough time for Bookie Insiders Golf Tips lately, with a loss of 81 points made across their three systems since our last update.

That means for each of their three strategies, the totals for our trial overall stand at:

  • – Top 20 bets (from 08.09.20): +103 points profit
  • – Betfair exchange win bets (from 01.01.21): +9 points profit
  • – Bookmaker each-way bets (from 01.01.21): +93 points profit

You can view full results here (please see the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet for the results for each model).

After a lean spell they had a better week last week, with the Betfair exchange bets hitting Matt Jones to win the Honda Classic at 120 and the bookmaker each-way bets landing Jbe Kruger at the Gauteng Championship at 66/1.

Hopefully that’s a sign of things to come as we head into a big run of golf tournaments including the WGC Matchplay this week and the Masters in just a couple of weeks.

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

Bookie Insiders Golf – Results Update

16th February 2021

Bookie Insiders Golf Tips originally just provided selections in the top 20 market of golf tournaments, but this year have expanded their offering to include selections in the outright markets, both at the bookmakers and Betfair exchange, so we are proofing each of these models for this review.

Here are the results for each of the options for our trial to date:

  • – Top 20 bets (from 08.09.20): +139 points profit
  • – Betfair exchange win bets (from 01.01.21): +60 points profit
  • – Bookmaker each-way bets (from 01.01.21): +87 points profit

You can view full results here (please see the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet for the results for each model).

It is worth noting that the Betfair exchange and bookmaker bets are different, with the former comprising of a lot more selections than the latter (274 bets compared to 96 bets so far). So you could do these separately if you have the funds available.

Winners already this year include Daniel Berger at Pebble Beach at 16/1, Paul Casey at the Dubai Desert Classic at 18/1, Tyrrell Hatton in Abu Dhabi at 12/1, Kevin Na at the Sony Open at 66/1 and Harris English at the Sentry Tournament of Champions at 33/1.

After a recent survey of members the good news is that they will be soon be adding bets in the top 10 markets, which usually have good liquidity on Betfair, and in Korn Ferry and Ladies’ tour events.

So there is now a huge amount of value in this service for members, who can choose to follow as many (or as few) of these options as they like. Top quality stuff.

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

Bookie Insiders Golf – Results Update

13th January 2021

A small dip for Bookie Insiders Golf recently, with a loss of 6 points made at advised prices since our last update.

With the big profits made previously however they are still 152 points up for our trial overall.

You can view full results here.

Interestingly in addition to the main top 20 bets we have been proofing for the last few months, they have just introduced outright tournament selections to the service as well.

There are both each-way selections to be placed with the bookies and win-only bets to be placed on Betfair. These bets are derived from the same model/algorithm as the main top 20 bets so in theory should have the same value behind them. The idea is to give some alternative options for those who may have been restricted by the bookies on the top 20 bets.

The Betfair exchange bets apparently made over 800 points profit last year to 1 point level stakes, which is obviously pretty incredible. They stress that those results were exceptional though and you wouldn’t expect that level of profit every year of course.

However, the good news is they started off this year with a winner, tipping Harris English at 40.0 and netting 31 points profit on the week.

So we will proof these Betfair bets alongside the main top 20 bets going forward – please see the second tab of our results spreadsheet for those.

There is a warning of high volatility to be expected with these bets as some are at massive odds (400/1+) so strap in for what should be an interesting ride on these ones…

Bookie Insiders Golf – Results Update

9th December 2020

Bookie Insiders Golf continues to crush it, with another 71 points profit made at advised prices since our last update a month ago.

That means they have smashed through the 150 points profit barrier for our trial overall, with 158 points profit made at advised prices.

You can view full results here.

The results at minimum advised odds have also been very impressive, with 39 points profit made since our last update and 82 points profit made for our trial overall. These are the odds you should be able to achieve even if you have been restricted with one or two of the top bookies.

Just a reminder this is a system which bets solely in the top 20 market in golf tournaments, so no win or each-way bets. There are lots of bets each week but once you have placed them that is it for the week and you can just sit back and cheer the bets on – so far with great success!

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

Bookie Insiders Golf – Results Update

9th October 2020

It’s been a good month for Bookie Insiders Golf, with another 9 points profit made at advised prices since our last update.

That means they are now 87 points up for our trial overall so far at advised prices.

You can view full results here.

As well as giving an advised price, they also give a minimum price to back the selections at. Since our last update they have dropped 9 points at minimum prices but are 43 points up for our trial overall.

Just a reminder this is a system which bets solely in the top 20 market in golf tournaments, so no win or each-way bets. It has been working very well so far – let’s hope that continues.

This week is the Masters of course so should be a great watch and some decent value to be had on top 20s with a reduced field.

Bookie Insiders Golf – Results Update

9th October 2020

It’s been a great start to our trial of Bookie Insiders Golf, with a profit of 78 points made so far after one month of following the tips.

You can view full results here.

As well as giving an advised price, they also give a minimum price to back the selections at. The results have also been very good at these minimum advised prices, with a profit of 52 points made for our trial to date.

Just a reminder this is a system which bets solely in the top 20 market of golf tournaments, so no win or each-way bets. It has been working very well so far – let’s hope that continues.

Bookie Insiders Golf – New Review

The Bookie Insiders are a team of professional gamblers with previous experience working for some of the top bookmakers (sportsbooks). They provide tips across a number of sports and we recently started a trial of their football service, which has been going very well.

Today we are going to take a look at their golf service, which looks very promising too.

It is a little different to most golf services in that it focuses solely on the Top 20 market rather than the winner of the tournament.

It’s more of a niche approach but can work very well in that it identifies players who may have no realistic chance of actually winning an event, but still consistently play decently and make the top 20. Many of these type of players are the unheralded names who are overlooked by the bookies and punters in general, so there can be value in backing them to make the top 20.

Certainly the published results on the Bookie Insiders website seem to back that up, with over 250 points profit made since starting in May 2019 at an excellent return on investment of 23%.

Their tips cover both the European and PGA Tours and there are typically quite a few selections to back each week. Once you have placed the bets though that is it for the week, so it’s a case of setting aside a bit of time once a week to place the bets but then you are done.

To get the most out of the service they recommend having accounts with at least a few of the following bookies:-

  • – Bet 365
  • – Betfair/PP
  • – Hills
  • – Bet Victor
  • – Unibet/888
  • – Boyles
  • – Betway
  • – Spreadex

We note however that they also record results at minimum prices, so it might be possible to follow the service if you are restricted. One of the aspects we will look at is how many of the bets are available at Betfair at the minimum odds or higher.

Anyway, given the excellent results achieved by Bookie Insiders’ football service we are looking forward to testing this service out.

Check back here for updates on how things are going during our trial.

In the meantime you can check out Bookie Insiders Golf for yourself here.

Hanbury Racing Tips – Full Review

Hanbury Racing Tips is a horse racing tipping service providing selections – often at high odds – for UK and Irish racing.

The selections for Hanbury Racing Tips are provided by a chap called Richard Hutchinson who won the Tote Ten To Follow Jumps competition in 2020. In doing so he captured the £10,000 March monthly prize and also the £177,000 first prize, so in total over £188,000 for his syndicate.

We followed his tips for an extended seven month trial, in which time we proofed over 450 bets.

And after that extended trial we are pleased to report that the results were excellent, with a total profit of 238 points made at advised prices.

That was achieved with an excellent return on investment (ROI) of 27% and a solid strike rate of 21% (including placed horses).

Richard has a penchant for high odds selections and there were a number of 100/1 shots picked and a lot at 66/1 and other big prices too.

Amazingly, one of the 100/1 shots actually won during our trial and a 150/1 came second towards the end of our trial – but tipped each way it still returned a healthy 29 points profit.

So in terms of the results at advised prices, this was one of the best horse racing trials we have run for a while.

One thing to be aware of though is that there was a wide discrepancy between the results at advised prices and those at Betfair SP, with the latter actually making an 89 point loss for our trial.

That difference was down in large part to one tip – Danilo D’Airy – which won at advised odds of 100/1. With a small rule 4 deduction included, it returned 106 points at advised prices from a one point each-way bet.

However, at Betfair SP it went off at just 12.53, returning just under 14 points profit, so a massive difference there.

Excluding this rather exceptional selection from the results though, you would still get results of 132 points profit at advised prices versus a 103 point loss at BSP.

So whichever way you slice it this doesn’t look like a service you can follow at Betfair SP and is one you would need bookie accounts for.

If you do have bookie accounts though it has been an excellent trial as we say and well worthy of a PASSED rating.

Service Breakdown

Ease of use: The tips are sent by e-mail, normally the evening before racing with a few early in the morning on the day of racing. With around 2-3 bets per day on average it’s not too onerous to follow.

Availability of prices: As Richard tips at very big odds the prices tend to be pretty sensitive so it is advisable to get your bets on as soon as possible. Quite often the big prices get smashed in by the time of the race. And as mentioned above, it does not look like the service is practical to follow at Betfair SP so you will need access to bookie accounts to make it practical to follow the service.

Strike rate: The strike rate for the trial was 21%, which is pretty good when you consider the odds tipped at.

Advised Betting Bank: A 210 point betting bank was advised for following the service and that seems about right to us.

Subscription costs: The subscription costs at the time of writing are £4.99 for the first 14 days then £36.99 per month.

OVERALL VERDICT: PASSED

Hanbury Racing Tips is a horse racing service that provides tips at high odds on UK and Irish racing. They came into our trial with a strong reputation and for once we can say they fully lived up to it, amassing a superb 238 points profit at advised prices. The ROI was also excellent at 27%.

The only thing to note is that it doesn’t look like the service is practical to follow at Betfair SP, as they actually made a loss at BSP for our trial.

Please note they are offering a 25% discount on subscriptions for Honest Betting Reviews visitors – please use the code honest25 at checkout.

Hanbury Racing Tips – Results Update

27th September 2021

Horse racing tipster Hanbury Racing Tips continues to fly along, with another 63 points profit made at advised prices since our last update.

That means they are now an impressive 199 points up for our trial overall at advised prices.

You can view full results here.

As mentioned in previous updates it’s not quite such a bright picture at Betfair SP though, with a profit of 17 points made since our last update but 81 points lost for our trial overall at BSP.

There have been excellent winners over the last month at prices of 25/1, 16/1, 14/1 and 33/1, as well as lot of big-priced place finishes.

Top stuff and well done to Richard who runs the service.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Hanbury Racing Tips – Results Update

25th August 2021

Yet more profit for Hanbury Racing Tips this month with another 12 points profit made at advised prices since our last update.

That means they are now an impressive 136 points up for our trial overall at advised prices.

You can view full results here.

As mentioned in previous updates it’s a very different picture at Betfair SP though, with a loss of 48 points made since our last update and 98 points lost for our trial overall at BSP.

Even taking into account the one selection that was tipped at 100/1 but went off at 12.53 BSP, that is still one of the biggest differences we have seen between advised prices and BSP in one of our trials.

That may be down in part to them tipping the evening before racing and looking for value at big prices which then get punted in by the off.

Whatever the reason though this is definitely looking like a service you need bookie accounts to follow.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Hanbury Racing Tips – Results Update

23rd July 2021

The good form continues for Hanbury Racing Tips, with another 33 points profit made at advised prices since our last update.

That means they are now an excellent 124 points up for our trial overall at advised prices.

You can view full results here.

As mentioned in previous updates it’s a very different picture however at Betfair SP, with 21 points profit made since our last update but 50 points lost for our trial overall at BSP.

So it very much looks like this is not a service to follow if you are restricted to the exchanges – bookie accounts are needed.

If you have bookie accounts then it’s looking like a top service.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Hanbury Racing Tips – Results Update

23rd June 2021

Just a small profit this month for Hanbury Racing Tips, with 4 points profit made at advised prices since our last update.

With the big gains made previously that puts them 91 points up for our trial overall at advised prices.

You can view full results here.

As mentioned last time it’s a very different picture however at Betfair SP, with another 23 points lost since our last update and 71 points lost for our trial overall at BSP.

So it very much looks like this is not a service to follow if you are restricted to the exchanges – bookie accounts are needed.

In fact we can’t remember seeing such a big discrepancy between results at advised prices and those at Betfair SP before, although as mentioned last time a large part of this is due to one winner which was advised at 100/1 but went off a BSP of just 12.53.

Anyway, just to mention as well that Hanbury Racing won our tipster of the month award last month, belatedly added after they were mistakenly overlooked in our original post. So congrats to them on the win.

Hanbury Racing Tips – Results Update

21st May 2021

It’s been an excellent start to our trial of Hanbury Racing Tips, with 87 points profit made so far to advised prices.

You can view full results here.

It is quite a different story however at Betfair SP, as they are actually 48 points down for our trial so far at BSP.

That is down in large part to just one tip – Danilo D’Airy – which won at advised odds of 100/1. With a small rule 4 deduction included, it returned 106 points at advised prices from a one point each-way bet.

However, at Betfair SP it went off at just 12.53, returning just under 14 points profit, so a massive difference there obviously. That fits the definition of a horse that was “smashed in” if ever there was one!

Whether that was just a one-off or not we will have to wait and see, but so far it is looking like this is a service you will need access to bookie accounts to get the most out of.

Hanbury Racing Tips – New Review

17th April 2021

Today we are starting a new review of a horse racing service called Hanbury Racing Tips.

This comes from a new tipster platform called Mega Tipsters.

The selections for Hanbury Racing Tips come from a chap called Richard Hutchinson who won the Tote Ten To Follow Jumps competition in 2020. In doing so he captured the £10,000 March monthly prize and also the £177,000 first prize, so in total over £188,000 for his syndicate.

In addition, Richard finished 9th in 2009 and had a runner in the Grand National. With these kind of results, it was only natural for him to turn his attention to running a professional tipping service, and that is what he has done at Mega Tipsters.

Richard has been following racing for over 30 years and studies form the closely, watching a huge amount of racing to aid his selection process. He specialises in both grade 1 horses and well-handicapped types. Either way Richard spends many hours studying the form before sending out his tips.

The results since Richard starting tipping in May 2020 look very impressive, with a profit of over 660 points made at a superb ROI of 39.5%.

That works out at over £16,000 profit at £25 per point stakes and over £1500 per month profit.

The focus at Hanbury Racing is on long-shot selections, with massive winners at prices of 66/1, 50/1, 33/1, 28/1, 22/1 having been achieved to date. And amazingly they just hit a 150/1 winner a couple of weeks ago!

Whilst that has provided exceptional returns – and plenty of excitement – to date, it also means a substantial betting bank is needed and a 225 point bank is recommended.

Overall then this looks like a very promising service and we are looking forward to seeing how it gets on. We started receiving tips on 13th April so will record selections from then. As usual we will update things as we along here.

In the meantime you can check out Hanbury Racing Tips for yourself here.

Golfbetsgold

Golfbetsgold – Final Review

We have reached the end of our nine month trial of Golfbetsgold and here are the final results:-

Profit/Loss:  +93 point profit
Strike Rate:   20%
Bank Growth:   47%

Golfbetsgold – Full Review

Golfbetsgold is a golf tipping service that provides selections both pre-tournament and in-play for the PGA and European tours.

Coming into our trial it had made a reported 328 points profit since starting up in 2018.

The theory behind their approach is that the bookies know most of the money will come in for the well-known players at the top of the market, meaning there is value to be found in the 25/1-50/1 price range. They use a data-driven approach to identify such value and achieve a long-term profit.

We followed the service for nine months and in that time proofed 189 bets, which is a decent sample size.

We are pleased to report that their approach worked very well, with a profit of 93 points made over the course of our trial.

That included a number of tasty winners such as:-

  • Billy Horschel at the BMW PGA Championship @ 28/1 – WON
  • Nacho Elvira at the Cazoo Open @ 22/1 – WON
  • Garrick Higgo at the Palmetto Championship @ 16/1 – WON (in-play)
  • Sam Horsfield first round leader at the Scandinavian Mixed @ 28/1 – WON (dead heat)
  • John Catlin at the Austrian Open @ 45/1 – WON
  • Rory McIlroy at the Wells Fargo @ 20/1 – WON
  • Jon Rahm at the US Open @ 10/1 – WON

So some very nice winners there and they also hit a number of placed finishes during the trial to keep the bank ticking over.

The return on investment was impressive at 21% and the strike rate was solid for a golf service at 20%.

One of the things we really liked about this service is how easy it is to follow, with just 4-5 bets per week meaning it takes a minimal amount of time to place the bets.

The picks normally come with detailed write-ups so you can see the reasoning behind the tips, which is something we like to see.

We think adding in-play tips to their pre-tournament ones is a good idea too as quite often there is value during an event, but most golf tipping services ignore that and just focus on the pre-tournament odds.

It should be noted that their in-play tips are between rounds and not whilst play is underway, so you normally have plenty of time to place the bets and achieve the advised odds.

Anyway, overall then it’s been a positive trial for Golfbetsgold and we are happy to award them a PASSED rating.

Service Breakdown

Ease of use: The tips are posted on the website which you need to log in to view. They send out an e-mail telling you when tips have been posted though. There are pre-tournament picks, normally posted by Tuesday and in-play picks over the course of the event. With just 4-5 tips per week it’s a very low workload service to follow.

Availability of prices: We didn’t really see any pressure on prices so you should be achieve the advised odds or thereabouts.

Strike rate: The strike rate for the trial was 20% (including placed golfers), which isn’t bad for a golf service and kept things ticking over.

Advised Betting Bank: There was no betting bank advised but we used a 200 point betting bank for our trial, which was adequate for our purposes.

Subscription costs: The subscription costs at the time of writing are £10 for the first month then £149 for six months or £429 per year.

OVERALL VERDICT: PASSED

Golfbetsgold is a golf tipping service that we followed for an extended nine month period. They made an excellent 93 points profit at a return on investment (ROI) of 21%.

It’s a really simple service to follow with just 4-5 bets per week meaning it will take minimal time to place the bets.

All in all then there’s lots to like about Golfbetsgold and we are happy to award them a PASSED rating.

Golfbetsgold – Results Update

19th August 2021

Just a small dip for golf tipping service Golfbetsgold over the last month, with a loss of 7 points made since our last update.

That means they are now 68 points up for our trial overall.

You can view full results here.

Although they made a small loss since our last update, they did still manage a nice winner at the Cazoo Open, with Nacho Elvira winning at in-play advised price of 22/1.

As mentioned before, when they tip in-play it is between rounds so it’s not a mad rush to get the bet on or anything like that. Just means they have spotted some value during the tournament that is worth taking advantage of.

The highlights of the last month have included Jon Rahm winning the US Open at 10/1 and Harris English winning the Travelers Championship at 12/1 (in-play) – after an epic eight-hole playoff that is!

Those successes come on the back of 45/1, 28/1 and 20/1 winners in previous months so they have been on a rich vein of form in recent times. Long may that continue.

Golfbetsgold – Results Update

9th April 2021

A small loss for Golfbetsgold lately, with 9 points dropped since our last update just over a month ago.

That means they are now 31 points down for our trial overall.

You can view full results here.

They did mange to pick Jordan Spieth in-running to win the Texas Open last week at 5/1 and before that had Antone Rozner in running at the Qatar Masters at 11/2.

So they have been doing okay with their in-play picks, just need for their pre-tournament selections to improve now to get them moving in the right direction.

Golfbetsgold – Results Update

2nd March 2021

It’s been a tough start to our trial of golf tipping service Golfbetsgold, with a loss of 22 points made so far after one month.

You can view full results here.

They have had some close shaves though with Viktor Hovland looking like a possible winner at the WGC event on Sunday at 22/1 until he ran out of gas on the last few holes and Nate Lashley at 66/1 being tied for the lead at Pebble Beach with three holes to play before hitting an unfortunate triple bogey.

Such are the rubs of the green you get in golf betting though so just have to soldier on and look to the next event when hopefully the luck goes their way.

Golfbetsgold – New Review

26th January 2021

Today we are starting a new trial of a golf betting service called Golfbetsgold.

They launched in September 2019, having previously proofed to Racing to Profit and Cleeve Racing. Since they began tipping in July 2018, their total reported profit stands at +328 points and they have had winners up to 125/1.

In 2020 Golfbetsgold members had 9 tournament winners and 32 placed selections.

Golfbetsgold have created a free report outlining how they achieved this profit plus two more free guides:

– 5 Players to Watch in 2021
– How to Win Money Betting on Golf

You can get those free guides here.

They provide a mixture of pre-tournament and in-play selections, which seems to be more in vogue these days and aim to make their members 100 points profits per year from a mixture of strong contenders around the 20/1 mark and outsiders at bigger prices.

They have started off our review well with an in-play winner at the weekend in the shape of Tyrrell Hatton. Let’s see if they can keep that up during the rest of our trial.

We will post updates here as we go along as usual.

In the meantime you can check out Golfbetsgold for yourself here.
