Members’ Choice Awards – Best Horse Racing Service 2023

We hope you had a good Christmas and have recovered from all the festivities.

As this year draws to a close, we have been running a contest to choose the best betting services of 2023, as voted for by you in our Members’ Choice Awards 2023.

The voting closed on Christmas Eve and we would like to say thank you to everyone who voted. We had a huge number of participants which is much appreciated.

It’s good to be able to recognise those services that have performed well this year and hopefully helped us make a profit.

The votes have now been counted and we are pleased to announce the first award in our series – for the Best Horse Racing Service (tipster or betting system) of the year.

How did it all pan out then once all the votes were counted?

This is perhaps the premiere category, with the most services in our Winning Systems list coming from the “sport of kings.”

So as expected it was a very competitive category this year with some top contenders.

Let’s have a look at the results then.

In third place in the contest for Best Horse Racing Service 2023 was The Outside Edge. It’s a service we reviewed back in 2021 and it made an impressive 269 points profit in our trial. It has continued to perform well, adding another 151 points profit since then.

Taking the runner-up spot was the much-loved Little Acorns, who has been a regular feature in these awards over the years, having topped the rankings last year and in 2020.

On to the winner then and the service taking the accolade this time is a service we are big fans of here at HBR and it looks like you are too!

Yes the winner of the Best Horse Racing Service 2023 was…

The Bookies Enemy!

This is a long-running horse racing service that has been going for over 10 years.

We conducted our own review of it back in 2018 when it made over 100 points profit and it has excelled since then, adding another 750 points profit.

The tips are provided by a chap called Gary Poole, who is an expert in flat racing, including the all-weather. He has tipped many great winners over the years and has a loyal follower base.

This year has been another very strong year for Gary, with 150 points profit made and eight winning months out of twelve.

Here are the final rankings then for Best Horse Racing Service 2023:

So the spoils go to The Bookies Enemy and here is what Gary had to say on receiving news of the award:

“WOW! And there’s me thinking what a quiet year we’ve had!

But thank you very much to all the HBR members that have voted for me. I think it’s great to receive any type of award, as really does go a long way in making me feel ‘appreciated’ by members.

It can be a lonely place being a tipster (violins out please) especially when variance is against you, and results have taken a turn for the worst and you think the whole world (and members) are against you. Then you get to read the odd nasty comment, taken from the bottom of a members wallet!

Each year, I always aim to better the previous year, and although we never beat it this time around, it was still a solid year with a minimum amount of losing months and a decent profit of around 151pts. But, I’ll certainly be looking to produce a better return in 2024.
