JB Racing Tips – Final Review

Well this is something we seem to say quite often these days, but unfortunately another tipster has given up the ghost before our review of them has even been completed.

Yes this time it is JB Racing Tips, who sent out an e-mail recently informing members that:

“I’m going to fall on my sword and surrender this service. Despite a great few months early 2018 it’s been up and down, mostly downs during summer.”

At the time they were 75 points down for September and nearly 100 points down for our trial before that, so it wasn’t that much of a surprise to be honest.

In some ways though we think it’s a shame that some tipsters don’t stick at it longer and see if they can turn things around – after all it’s the long term that matters and in the case of JB Racing Tips he may well have still finished the year well in profit.

But that is the nature of the tipping game sadly. There are so many out there willing to have a go that if you don’t succeed almost immediately out the gate then you won’t survive.

So it’s another FAILED rating unfortunately and another service to add to the defunct/no longer in operation pile…a pile that is getting quite big now!

JB Racing Tips – Results Update

19th August 2018

More losses unfortunately for JB Racing Tips since our last update, with 19 points lost at advised prices over the last three weeks.

That means they are now 92 points down for our trial overall.

You can view full results here.

At Betfair SP there has been something of an improvement, with a profit of 34 points made since our last update. Sadly though that still leaves them 109 points down for the trial overall at Betfair SP.

As we have mentioned before, staking is high here with an average of 5 points per bet, so that tends to inflate the results and should be borne in mind when looking at the figures.

JB Racing Tips – Results Update

30th July 2018

It’s been a rough time lately for JB Racing Tips, with 93 points lost at advised prices since our last update.

That means they are now 73 points down at advised prices for our trial overall.

You can view full results here.

At Betfair SP it has been even worse, with 96 points lost since our last update and 143 points lost for our trial overall.

As we mentioned during our last update, the results are exaggerated by the fact that the average stake is 5 points per bet. We don’t really know why services use staking like this (other than to inflate results) and really if your staking is generally level then why not just use 1 point each-way?

Anyway, whichever way you spin it this has been a disappointing trial so far and is in need of a turnaround in form quickly.

JB Racing Tips – Results Update

29th June 2018

It’s been a solid start to our trial of JB Racing Tips, with 20 points profit made so far after just over a month.

You can view full results here.

It’s a different story at Betfair SP however, with a loss of 47 points having been made so far.

One of the things to note about this service is that the average stake per bet is 5 points (usually 2.5pts e/w), so that exaggerates everything. At 1 point level stakes they would approximately 4 points up at advised prices and 10 points down at BSP.

Whilst obviously a much smaller gap, that is still quite a difference between the advised prices and BSP and is something we will keep an eye on going forward.

JB Racing Tips – New Review

23rd May 2018

How would you fancy making £800 per month profit from following a tipster with just £10 per point stakes?

Well that is the strapline of the latest horse racing tipster we are going to take a look at here at Honest Betting Reviews.

The tipster in question is called JB Racing and they hail from the renowned Betting Gods stable of tipsters.

So just how have they managed to achieve such spectacular results?

Well, not much is given away about ole’ JB, but apparently he is an experienced pro horse racing better who has been finding winners at high odds for a number of years.

Certainly the results so far look very impressive, with over 500 points profit made in just seven months of tipping.

The return on investment looks strong too at over 25% and the strike rate isn’t too shabby either considering the service targets higher-odds selections, registering at 26%.

Even with a 200 point bank, the tips would have made your bank grow by 280% since the service started, so nearly a quadrupling.

All in all it looks like a fairly awesome service, although it must be stressed it’s still relatively early days with tips having only been provided to Betting Gods since November 2017.

As ever the proof of the pudding will be in the eating, but it’s good to see Betting Gods have uncovered another promising tipster and let’s hope they turn out to be as impressive as the likes of Master Racing Tipster and Rod’s Runners.

So will commence a trial of JB’s tips and will report back soon on how things are going.

In the meantime you can check out JB Racing here.

Racing Methodology – Full Review

Racing Methodology is a horse racing tipster from the Tipster Street stable of tipsters. They take an unusual approach to betting by focusing on the place market on Betfair.

Instead of backing standard each-way bets, they place 1 point on the win and 2 on the place on Betfair.

Taking that approach should ensure a higher strike rate and be a little safer than just backing to win or even just normal each-way bets, protecting the bank in the process.

Unfortunately though during our trial things didn’t quite turn out that way, with a loss of 25 points being made.

With a recommended betting bank of 200 points, that translated to just a 13% loss of the bank, which isn’t the end of the world by any means.

But a loss is still a loss so unfortunately it means a FAILED rating from us for Racing Methodology.

Of course we may have just caught the service at a bad time so will continue monitoring things to see if results pick up.

Service Breakdown

Ease of use:  There are an average of just two bets per day, making it a fairly straightforward service to follow.

Availability of prices: All bets are placed at Betfair so there’s no need to worry about restricted bookie accounts. And the Betfair SP results were the same as the advised prices, so you can just use BSP if you like.

Strike rate: The strike rate for the trial was 26% including placed horses, which isn’t bad but ideally we would have liked to see it a little higher.

Advised Betting Bank: A 200 point bank is advised for following the service, which seems reasonable to us and should be comfortable for following the service.

Subscription costs: The subscription costs are reasonable at £4.99 for the first month then £19.95 per month or £29.95 per quarter.

OVERALL VERDICT: FAILED

Racing Methodology takes an unusual approach to betting by focusing on the place market on Betfair, whilst also backing selections to win.

Unfortunately it had a tough trial, finishing with a loss of 25 points.

Whilst that wasn’t a disaster, it was a little disappointing so it’s a FAILED rating from us. We will keep an eye things though over the coming months to see if the results improve.

Racing Methodology – Results Update

9th July 2018

There has been a small drop for Racing Methodology since our last update a month ago, with 10 points lost at advised prices in that time.

That puts them on 11 points down for the trial overall at advised prices.

You can view full results here.

At Betfair SP there has been a slightly bigger drop, with 17 points lost since our last update and 10 points lost for the trial overall.

They take an interesting approach to staking, with each horse backed 1 point to win and 2 points to place, so it’s somewhat of a protective approach that should help to preserve the bank.

So far it has been working too well but there is still time to turn things round.

Racing Methodology – Results Update

8th June 2018

It continues to be a quiet time for horse racing tipster Racing Methodology, with just 1 point of profit at advised prices since our last update.

That means they are now 1 point down for the trial overall at advised prices.

You can view full results here.

This is one of those rare occasions when the Betfair SP results are ahead of those at advised prices, with the BSP results having added two points profit since our last update to sit at 7 points up overall.

Let’s hope we have some more exciting news to report for Racing Methodology at our next update.

Racing Methodology – Results Update

14th May 2018

It’s been a quiet start to our trial of Racing Methodology from the Tipster Street stable, with just 2 points lost so far at advised prices after three weeks of the trial.

You can view full results here.

At Betfair SP they are actually in profit so far, five points to be precise, which is good to see.

They take an interesting approach to staking, with each horse backed 1 point to win and 2 points to place, so it’s somewhat of a protective approach that should help to preserve the bank.

Anyway, a solid start so far and hopefully we will see things pick up now we are in the main flat season.

Racing Methodology – New Review

23rd April 2018

Today we are starting a new trial of a horse racing tipster from the Tipster Street stable of tipsters.

The service in question is called Racing Methodology and it utilises an interesting approach to backing on the horses.

Rather than just backing to win (or even each-way), it backs 3 points on each selection – 1 to win and 2 points to place.

Using the place market should improve the strike rate and ensure the losing runs are shorter, giving greater stability to the service.

All bets are placed on Betfair, which as our long-term followers will know we are always keen on because it means you should be able to match the results claimed.

And talking about those results, they look pretty decent too. The service has been running for over four years now and in that time has amassed close to 350 points profit in that time.

Each year so far has been profitable which is encouraging to see, with the best year being 2014 with 169 points profit.

There are an average of two bets per day, so the service looks very manageable.

It feels like a good time to be starting a new trial of a horse racing tipster with the flat season just getting underway.

Without further ado then we will kick off the trial of Racing Methodology and will report back here soon on how things are going.

In the meantime you can check out Racing Methodology here.

Racing Goldmine – Final Review

We have reached the end of our three month trial of Racing Goldmine and here are the final results:-

Profit/Loss:    -57 points
Strike Rate:   13%
Bank Growth:     -57%
ROI:   -7%
Average number of bets:     10 per day
Cost:   £57/month or £114/quarter
VERDICT:   FAILED

Racing Goldmine – Full Review

Racing Goldmine is a horse racing tipster that takes quite an unusual approach to their betting.

Basically they tend to provide multiple selections in the same race – or in other words are “dutching” in betting parlance. The idea is that you are hedging your bets and covering multiple angles for how the race may pan out.

The results coming into our trial looked outstanding so we were cautiously optimistic that the people behind the service had found a new profitable angle for betting on the horses.

Unfortunately though, things did not turn out well under the spotlight of a live trial and we ended up 57 points down at advised prices and 75 points down at Betfair SP.

At advised prices, that represented a return on investment of -7% and a 57% loss of the bank, which are fairly disappointing figures.

As always, it could be that we just caught the service at a bad time but really we were hoping for better than that and we feel we have no alternative but to award it a FAILED rating based on the results of our trial.

It is one to avoid for the time being and is not one we will be adding to our portfolio.

Service Breakdown

Ease of use: The bet volume is high with around 10 bets per day, which are sent out the evening before racing, so there is quite a bit of work involved in the following the service.

Availability of prices: We did not experience any problems in terms of obtaining the advised prices.

Strike rate: The strike rate during the trial was quite low at 13% so there will be drawdowns encountered with this tipster.

Advised Betting Bank: We used a 100 point bank for the service but a larger bank of up to 150 points could be used for added safety.

Subscription costs: The subscription costs are £57 per month or £114 per quarter which are quite high given the results achieved during our trial.

OVERALL VERDICT: FAILED

We had high hopes for Racing Goldmine coming into our trial but sadly it ended up disappointing with a loss of 57 points at advised prices.

This isn’t a service we will be following and it receives a FAILED rating from us.

Racing Goldmine – Results Update

11th December 2017

A bit of an improvement for Racing Goldmine since our last update, with 10 points profit made.

That means we are now 6 points up for the trial as a whole.

You can view full results here.

At Betfair there has also been a slight improvement, with 11 points profit made since our last update.

However, we are still 39 points down at Betfair SP for the trial overall, so it is looking questionable as to whether the service is practical to follow at Betfair SP.

Back soon with more updates.

————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Racing Goldmine – Results Update

25th November 2017

Things have gone south for Racing Goldmine since our last update a month ago, with 21 points lost in that time to advised prices.

That means overall we are now 6 points down for the trial so far.

You can view full results here.

At Betfair SP we have seen things take a more severe nosedive, with 50 points lost since our last update and 42 points lost overall.

So far Racing Goldmine isn’t living up to the results published on their website prior to our trial starting, which if you remember showed an astonishing profit of over 1300 points since April.

Anyway, we only around half way through the trial, so plenty of time for results to pick up.

We will be back soon with more updates.

————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Racing Goldmine – Results Update

23rd October 2017

It has been solid start to our trial of Racing Goldmine, whilst not quite matching the amazing results published for the period prior to our trial.

So far to advised prices we are 15 points up after three weeks.

You can view full results here.

At Betfair SP we are 8 points up, which isn’t bad either.

There are a large volume of bets with this service, although a lot of them are in the same races. So you will be backing 3 or 4 horses in the same race, which is quite an unusual approach.

However, so far it is working well so we can’t have any complaints really.

————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Racing Goldmine – New Review

3rd October 2017

Today we are commencing a new trial of a very promising horse racing service called Racing Goldmine.

To say this has some of the best results we have ever seen from a horse racing tipster would be an understatement.

These results are positively mind-blowing!

Since starting proofing to Bet Kudos in April 2017, the service has made an astonishing 1380 points profit to advised prices.

That would be £13,800 profit to just £10 per point in only 6 months!

And that is to 1 point level stakes. So no crazy staking system to inflate results, just simple 1 point stakes on every bet.

The return on investment is a ridiculous 160%. Nuts. Just nuts.

Even the strike rate is pretty good at 35%, so a decent proportion of winners.

Now having seen those results, our initial worry was that they would all be predicated on getting early prices and that by the time the races come round, the value would be all gone and those without bookie accounts wouldn’t be able to follow the service.

But get this – the Betfair SP results are an amazing 1144 points profit too! So hugely profitable by using Betfair as well.

There isn’t much given away on the sales page as to how selections are chosen and all we can glean is that it involves backing more than one horse in each race and the service is run by a guy called Richard Man.

We have been advised to use a 200 point bank when following the service, which for once seems like a more than adequate bank given the 1 point stakes and 35% strike rate.

So we are very excited to get the trial underway and to see if results can come anywhere close to those published on the Bet Kudos website.

If they can then we will be onto something very special here indeed!

We will update results here regularly during the trial so you can see how the service is progressing.

In the meantime you can check out Racing Goldmine here.

Platinum Winners – Final Review

We have come to the end of our three month trial of Platinum Winners and here are the final results:-

Profit/Loss:   -44 points
Strike Rate:   21%
Bank Growth:   -44%
ROI:   -9%
Average number of bets:     10 per week
Cost:    £1 for first 7 days then £39.50/month
VERDICT:    FAILED

Platinum Winners – Full Review

Platinum Winners is a horse racing tipping service from the Pro Betting Club stable with selections provided by a professional gambler who specialises in UK racing.

It uses a loss recovery staking system, such that you bet increasing stakes on a 1pt-2pt-3pt-4pt-5pt-6pt-7pt-8pt basis until you hit a winner or have 8 losers in a row, at which point you would reset back to 1 point.

So if you have a losing streak of 8, you will have lost 36 points. If you have a winner you should in most cases win back more than you have lost in the losing streak to that point.

We expressed concerns at the outset of the trial about these kinds of loss recovery systems and that they can be high risk and very costly if they go wrong.

And during the trial it very much turned out that way, as we had a number of occasions in which the 8-horse losing streak was hit.

That resulted in a big drop in our bank to over 80 points down at one stage, which can be seen in the graph below:

Platinum Winners Profit Graph

In the end we finished the trial 44 points down, which represented a 44% loss of the bank.

We also recorded results at 1 point level stakes and those results were quite a bit better, with just 21 points being lost.

Either way though it has been disappointing trial and we think the only fair verdict here is a FAILED rating given the losses incurred.

Service Breakdown

Ease of use: A pretty easy service to follow, with an average of ten bets per week. You have to login to the Pro Betting Club site before midday to get the selections and no e-mail service is offered however.

Availability of prices: All selections are advised at Betfair SP, so no problem matching the published results.

Strike rate: The strike rate during the trial was 21%, which unfortunately meant some losing streaks resulting in the max 8-bet losing streak.

Advised Betting Bank: A 100 point bank is advised for the service and at one point we were 84 points down so that did not seem nearly enough. We would suggest a 200 point bank would be more suitable given their ratcheted staking system.

Subscription costs: The costs to sign up £1 for the first 7 days then £39.50 per month.

OVERALL VERDICT: FAILED

Platinum Winners is a horse racing tipster service from the Pro Betting Club stable.

It utilises a loss recovery staking system, which is an approach we do not normally recommend using.

Unfortunately those concerns were borne out during the review, with our bank going 84 points down at one stage, before finishing 44 points down in the end.

We also recorded results at level stakes and unfortunately that also resulted in a loss, although not as bad, with 21 points being lost.

Either way though it did not turn out as hoped and therefore we have to award Platinum Winners a FAILED rating at this time.

————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Platinum Winners – Results Update

3rd October 2017

Exactly what we were warning about in our last update on Platinum Winners has ended up playing out as we feared it might.

Basically we warned last time about the dangers of ratcheted staking plans like that used for Platinum Winners where you increase your stakes progressively until you hit a winner.

In this case they keep increasing the stakes until they hit a winner or lose 8 in a row, at which point you would have lost 36 points overall in the run of 8 bets.

Well that has happened not once, not twice but three times since our last update, meaning they lost a whopping 100 points in October.

That puts them on -77 points for the trial overall.

You can view full results here.

A fairly disastrous set of results there then.

As we also said in our previous update, we wanted to record results at level stakes for these very reasons.

At level stakes things haven’t been nearly as bad, with 18 points lost since our last update and 24 points lost for the trial overall.

Another example of why we believe that level stakes or a fixed percentage of your bank (like 1%) are the only staking systems that can work long term.
————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Platinum Winners – Results Update

3rd October 2017

It has been a good start to our trial of Platinum Winners, at advised stakes at least (more on that below).

They are 22 points in profit to advised stakes, a healthy return after just over one month.

You can view full results here.

However, as we say that is at advised staking, which is a progressive staking method that is quite aggressive.

Basically, you bet increasing stakes on a 1pt-2pt-3pt-4pt-5pt-6pt-7pt-8pt basis until you hit a winner or have 8 losers in a row, at which point you would reset back to 1 point. So if you have a losing streak of 8, you will have lost 36 points.

This kind of staking will not suit everyone, so we have also recorded results at 1pt level stakes. On that basis, we are actually 6 points down.

So just be aware of the staking system involved if you are going to sign up to Platinum Winners.

————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Platinum Winners – New Review

21st August 2017

It’s been a while since we have reviewed any services from the Pro Betting Club, so today we are pleased to get a new trial underway of one of their premier services, Platinum Winners.

It is a horse racing tipping service with selections provided by a professional gambler who specialises in UK racing.

Apparently all selections are carefully researched, which is reassuring (we wouldn’t want them picked at random would we?) and there are on average 3 bets per day.

The good thing about the bets is that they can all be placed at Betfair SP and that’s how results are recorded, so there is no need to go frantically searching for the best bookies price when tips are sent out like some other services.

They started tipping at the beginning of 2017 and results to date look very impressive, with over 330 points profit made.

Six out of the seven months so far have been profitable and the strike rate has been around the 25% mark so far.

A 100 point bank is recommended for following the service, which seems pretty reasonable, although we will see during the trial if that is sufficient to withstand losing runs and drawdowns.

Anyway, without further ado we will get things underway and look forward to seeing how things go with this one.

In the meantime you can check out Platinum Winners here.

Robert Fraser’s Racing Tips – Final Review

Bank Growth:     -20%
ROI:   -5%
Average number of bets:     2 per day

Robert Fraser’s Racing Tips – Final Review

Robert Fraser’s Racing tips is a straightforward horse racing tipping service from the reputable Betting Gods tipster network.

It is one of the very few services that tips at Betfair SP, meaning the results are obtainable for everyone with access to Betfair and for those in countries that don’t have access, you may well be able to beat the results by using a range of bookies.

As the ability to make a profit at Betfair SP is such a sought-after commodity, we thought it would be worth doing an extended six-month trial here to see if Robert Fraser could manage to crack it.

Unfortunately though even with the extended period to overcome the temporary ups and downs you often see with tipsters, we didn’t end up generating a profit and finished 30 points down for the trial.

You can see how the trial went in the graph below.

Robert Fraser's Racing Tips Profit Graph

That worked out as a return on investment of -5% and a 20% loss of the bank, which are disappointing figures.

Overall then we feel the only fair verdict here is a FAILED rating and this is not a service we will be adding to our portfolio at the current time.

Service Breakdown

Ease of use: With an average of just two bets per day and all placed at Betfair SP, it is one of the easiest horse racing services you will find to follow.

Availability of prices: As we say, with bets placed at Betfair SP there is no problem with price availability and you may even be able to beat the advertised results with a little work.

Strike rate: The strike rate during the trial was 22%, which is somewhat below where it needed to be to generate a profit at the prices tipped at.

Advised Betting Bank: A 150 point bank is advised for following the service which seems about right to us. We had lost about 50% of our bank at the low point of the trial but recovered in the latter part.

Subscription costs: The subscription fees are £1 for the first 30 days then £49.95 per month, £119.95 per quarter or £599.95 for lifetime.

OVERALL VERDICT: FAILED

Making a profit at Betfair SP is kind of the holy grail for horse racing tipsters as it would mean a service is practical for everyone to follow and make some money from.

We gave Robert Fraser’s Racing Tips an extended six month trial to see if it could deliver that holy grail but sadly it ended up falling short, finishing 30 points down in the end.

With that representing a 20% loss of the bank, we feel we have no choice but to give this a FAILED rating based on those results and it is not a service we can recommend at this time.

However, there is better news for Robert’s tennis tipping service which we will be finishing our review of shortly, so watch out for that.

Robert Fraser’s Racing Tips – Results Update

7th October 2017

It’s been an excellent turnaround for Robert Fraser’s Racing Tips, which were 73 points down at the time of our last update.

We are pleased to report they are now just 8 points down, so a huge improvement of 65 points since our last update.

You can view full results here.

Just a reminder that this service tips at Betfair SP, so there is obviously no need to record those results separately.

Let’s hope the recent recovery in form can continue for Robert.

Robert Fraser’s Racing Tips – Results Update

11th September 2017

It has been a complete nightmare lately for Robert Fraser’s Racing Tips, which have lost a whopping 78 points since our last update just over a month ago.

That means we are now 73 points down for the trial overall, a pretty woeful position.

You can view full results here.

This has just been one of those situations where everything that can go wrong has gone wrong. The service started with high hopes and a lot of hullabaloo, but sadly so far it has failed to live up to those high expectations.

We will follow this for a little longer, but barring a spectacular turnaround, unfortunately it looks like it is heading for the failed pile.

Back soon with more updates.

——————————————————————————————————————————————–

Robert Fraser’s Racing Tips – Results Update

28th July 2017

There has been a good turnaround for Robert Fraser’s Racing Tips, with 32 points profit made since our last update.

That means we are 5 points up for the trial overall.

You can view full results here.

Just a reminder that this service tips at Betfair SP, so the results are that much more impressive than most other services which use early bookies’ prices.

Not long left in the trial now so lets hope for a big finish from Robert.

——————————————————————————————————————————————–

Robert Fraser’s Racing Tips – Results Update

7th July 2017

A small improvement for Robert Fraser’s Racing Tips since our last update a month ago, with 4 points profit made.

Unfortunately though we are still 27 points down for the trial overall.

You can view full results here.

Just a reminder that this is a service that backs at Betfair SP only so it is always going to be tougher to make a profit doing that than taking best prices from the bookies.

A month to go in our trial so hopefully enough time for Robert to turn things around.

——————————————————————————————————————————————–

Robert Fraser’s Racing Tips – Results Update

7th June 2017

It has been a tough time for Robert Fraser’s Racing Tips since our last update a couple of weeks ago, with 31 points having been lost in that time.

That means we are also 31 points down for the trial overall.

You can view full results here.

These results seem to track the general trend at the moment in that a lot of tipsters seem to be having a tough time. It could be due it being early in the season and form hasn’t settled down yet, with changeable ground also adding to the difficulties.

Whatever the cause though, let’s hope things pick up for Robert and the other tipsters soon.

——————————————————————————————————————————————–

Robert Fraser’s Racing Tips – Results Update

22nd May 2017

It has been a fairly uneventful start to our trial of Robert Fraser’s Racing Tips, with 0.3 points of profit made so far.

Basically then we are at the same point as where we started a couple of weeks ago.

You can view full results here.

Just to recap that this is a service which uses Betfair SP for all tips, so you know you can match the published results and if this does well, then we may have found the holy grail of horse racing tipping – something that makes a profit at Betfair SP!

Anyway, a quiet start so far but very early days so plenty of time to step things up.

Robert Fraser’s Racing Tips – New Review

6th May 2017

For many people it is the holy grail of betting: finding a strategy that works at Betfair SP.

So many of us have lost our accounts with the bookmakers and now have to turn to the exchanges to try and find some profit.

However, so many betting systems and strategies rely on use of the bookies and simply do not work at Betfair SP.

Well, today we are hoping that we may have found the answer.

It comes in the form of a horse racing tipster called Robert Fraser from the reputable Betting Gods network of tipsters.

He bets entirely at Betfair SP and records his results as such, so there is no worrying about whether you will be able to match the advised prices etc.

Robert’s results so far are pretty formidable, with 140 points profit made in just over 3 months of tipping.

That’s £1,400 to just £10 stakes.

That has been achieved with a very healthy strike rate of over 40% – meaning lots of winners – and an excellent return on investment of 64%.

It is quite a selective service, with generally just 1 or 2 bets per day, so a very manageable service to follow.

It is obviously early days with the service after only three months, but that is why we are keen to start a live trial here at Honest Betting Reviews and see if those results can be maintained in the longer term.

If they do, then as we say, this may well be that holy grail of betting: something that is profitable at Betfair SP!

Carl Nicholson’s Stable Whispers – Final Review

We have reached the end of our four month trial of Carl Nicholson’s Stable Whispers and here are the final results:-

Carl Nicholson’s Stable Whispers – Full Review

After having given horse racing tipster Carl Nicholson’s main Racing Diary service a positive review, we were eager to test out his other service, Stable Whispers.

Stable Whispers is a service that focuses on information received from stables about horses expected to go well.

Prior to our trial, it had apparently amassed a healthy 60 points profit for the year.

Sadly though during our four month trial almost all those profits were wiped out, with a loss of 47 points being made to advised prices.

That equated to a 97% loss of the recommended 50 point bank, pretty shocking stuff.

At Betfair SP the results were even worse, with a 66 point loss being made – so the whole bank would have been wiped out!

Overall then we have no choice but to award Stable Whispers a FAILED rating with such large losses having been made.

Service Breakdown

Ease of use:  There is an average of just one bet per day, so the workload is extremely low with this service.

Availability of prices:  The prices weren’t overly under pressure from when the tips were released, although the occasional selection would get smashed in by the off time. Best to get your bets on the evening before in any event.

Strike rate: The strike rate for the trial was a lowly 11%, well below what it needs to be for the service to turn a profit.

Advised Betting Bank: A 50 point bank is advised for following the service, which clearly is not enough given that we suffered a 47 point loss during the trial. We believe a 100 point bank should be advised.

Subscription costs: The subscription costs are £34.98 per month, which includes Stable Whispers and Carl’s main service, the Racing Diary.

OVERALL VERDICT: FAILED

Sadly Carl Nicholson’s Racing Diary has had a horror trial, racking up a loss of 47 points to advised prices.

It could be that we just hit the service at a bad time, but any tipster who loses 97% of their advised betting bank is going to have a tough time convincing followers to stay with them.

On that basis, we have no choice but to award the Stable Whispers service a FAILED rating and time to move swiftly on to the next trial we feel…

Carl Nicholson’s Stable Whispers – Results Update

2nd August 2017

There has been a small improvement for Carl Nicholson’s Stable Whispers since our last update, with 6 points profit made at advised prices.

Sadly though, we are still 28 points down at advised prices for the trial overall, so plenty more lost ground still needs to be made up.

You can view full results here.

At Betfair SP, it is a slightly worse story, with 3 points profit made since our last update but we are still 46 points down for the trial overall.

Back soon with more updates.

That means Carl is now 34 points down for the trial overall to advised prices.

At Betfair SP, another 20 points has been lost, putting Carl 49 points down overall.

Let’s hope for some big winners over the final months of the trial.

Carl Nicholson’s Stable Whispers – Results Update

17th June 2017

A tough run so far for Carl Nicholson’s Stable Whispers, which have lost another 9 points at advised prices since our last update at the end of May.

That means they are now 17 points down for the trial overall at advised prices.

You can view full results here.

At Betfair SP it has been worse, with a further 17 points lost since our last update and 29 points lost overall.

We are less than half way through the trial though, so plenty of time to turn things around.

Carl Nicholson’s Stable Whispers – Results Update

28th May 2017

It has been a little bit of a slow start to our trial of Carl Nicholson’s Stable Whispers, which is 8 points down so far to advised prices.

At Betfair SP we are 12 points down so far.

Just a reminder, this is a sister service to Carl Nicholson’s Racing Diary, which is his main service and which we reviewed just recently.

Early days then for this and plenty of time to get into profit.

Carl Nicholson’s Stable Whispers – New Review

10th May 2017

Hot on the heels of just completing our successful trial of Carl Nicholson’s Racing Diary service, we are now following that up with a new trial of his other offering, his Stable Whispers service.

Just to recap in case you missed our previous trial, Carl Nicholson is a maths and computer science graduate from Harvard University in the USA.

He also worked for the Daily Racing Form in America and has written a book on his method of finding value selections.

Carl’s Racing Diary service performed very well during our trial, notching up 45 points of profit at a return on investment of 29%.

With such impressive results, we thought we just had to follow it up with a trial of his other service, Stable Whispers.

This is a newer service which Carl just started up in late 2016 but in a short time has built up an strong-looking set of results, notching up 61 points profit so far in 2017.

That equates to £1,534 to £25 stakes, a nice little bonus if you combine it with the £1,281 made with the main Racing Diary selections.

Basically the Stable Whispers service consists of selections that have come in from Carl’s network of contacts around the country.

He apparently gets a lot of ‘news’ each day, and spends his mornings checking out the viability of that info and the best news goes to his Stable Whispers members.

That info looks to be pretty sound so far based on what is published on the website.

Certainly if it turns out to be as good as the main service, then we have found two little gems rolled into one!

The Stable Whispers service is only available as an add-on to Racing Diary service, but you can get them combined for a reasonable price of £34.98 per month.

We will run a standard three month trial of Stable Whispers and will report back soon on how things are going.

In the meantime you can check out Carl Nicholson’s Stable Whispers here.

Lucky Multi Bets – Final Review

We have reached the end of our three month trial of Lucky Multi Bets and here are the final results:-

Profit/Loss:   -36 points
Strike Rate:    28%

Lucky Multi Bets – Full Review

Lucky Multi Bets is a horse racing tipster service that provides four selections each day, which are then placed in a Lucky 15 bet.

There are some bold claims on their website about having won over £18,000 from a £7.50 bet so we were eager to test the service out and see if it could deliver.

So how did it get on during our three month trial?

Well we are disappointed to say that Lucky Multi Bets had a fairly poor trial, racking up a loss of 36 points at advised prices and 28 points at Betfair SP.

A service like this depends to a certain extent on hitting a big-priced winner where all four selections win on the same day, landing a potentially massive prize.

This didn’t happen during our trial unfortunately and we wonder how many people would have the stomach to endure the losing runs whilst hoping for a big winner to be landed.

In truth we doubt it would be very many and so we are afraid it is a FAILED rating for Lucky Multi Bets.

Not so lucky this time…

Service Breakdown

Ease of use:  There is just one bet per day, which is a lucky 15 bet. So you will need some bookies accounts to place the lucky 15.

Availability of prices:  The prices were generally freely available, we saw no problems in that aspect of the service.

Strike rate: The strike rate for the trial was 28%, which on its own is not too bad, but the service relies on hitting 3 or 4 winners on the same day to really bank some profits, which happens very rarely.

Advised Betting Bank: There was no betting bank advised, but we used a 100 point bank for the trial which seemed sufficient.

Subscription costs: The subscription costs are £27 per month or £127 per year.

OVERALL VERDICT: FAILED

Unfortunately Lucky Multi Bets has failed to deliver the hoped-for profits during our trial, ending up 36 points down in the end.

On that basis we are forced to award this a FAILED rating for now and will move on in our search to find the best betting systems for you.

Lucky Multi Bets – Results Update

18th August 2017

It continues to be a struggle for Lucky Multi Bets, which isn’t proving very lucky so far sadly!

Since our last update we have lost a further 16 points at advised prices, meaning we are now 31 points down for the trial overall.

You can view full results here.

At Betfair SP, we have lost 13 points since the last update and are 28 points down overall.

Could really do with one of those big Lucky 15 bets being hit soon!

————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

Lucky Multi Bets – Results Update

26th July 2017

More losses unfortunately for Lucky Multi Bets, with another 7 points lost at advised prices since our last update a month ago.

That means we are now 15 points down for the trial overall at advised prices.

You can view full results here.

At Betfair SP it is a similar story, with another 7 points lost since our last update and 15 points also lost overall.

Just to recap briefly, this is a service advising one lucky 15 bet per day on the horses.

Hopefully we will have better news to report in our next update.

————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

Lucky Multi Bets – Results Update

28th June 2017

It has been a slow start to our trial of Lucky Multi Bets, who are 8 points down so far to advised prices.

You can view full results here.

Just to recap, this is a horse racing service that provides you with four selections per day, which you place in a Lucky 15 bet. That is it, no other bets or combinations needed.

At Betfair SP, the results have been very similar, with 8 points also lost so far.

A strategy like this does rely on all four selections being hit in one day to land the big prize, so things could turn around for them if they manage to achieve that.

Lucky Multi Bets – New Review

2nd June 2017

Our inbox has been inundated recently about a new service called Lucky Multi Bets.

With so much marketing hype around the system, we thought we would take a look and see what the fuss was all about.

The idea of the service is to place small stakes on long shot multiple bets in the hope of winning big.

On the sales page, it shows a winning bet slip with a return of £18,849 from a £7.50 stake, placed as a lucky 15 bet.

Now wins like this are obviously extremely unlikely so the question is whether they can turn a profit on smaller wins whilst you wait for the potential big win to come in.

Apparently the service is run by a team of professional punters who make their livelihood through horse racing betting.

Not much information is given on how the selections are chosen, other than that the experts pore over form guides, ratings and weather forecasts to find the selections.

No long term results are given, so other than the massive win they quote, it is difficult to judge how profitable the service may be.

The joining costs are £27 per month or £127 per year, so about average for this sort of thing.

We will run our normal three month trial and will report back soon on how things are going.

In the meantime you can check out Lucky Multi Bets here.

guaranteed winners pic

Guaranteed Winners – Final Review

It is not often we finish a review this early but unfortunately with Guaranteed Winners we have been forced to.

After just about two months, we are sorry to report that we are yet to receive a single bet from Guaranteed Winners.

Nothing. Nada. Nil.

Even after sending them half a dozen e-mails asking what was going on, they failed to produce any meaningful response or tips.

Talk about Guaranteed Winners. Some guaranteed bets would be nice.

We are not sure if this is a scam or just an unfortunate instance where the service has been discontinued and they have forgotten to take the page down.

Either way, it is a FAILED rating from us and a clear warning not to sign up.

Very disappointing that there are still things like this out there but there you are – that is the wild west of the internet!

Guaranteed Winners – New Review

30th May 2017

Today we are starting a trial of a new service, the intriguingly-named Guaranteed Winners.

We aren’t sure how you can “guarantee” winners unless you are doing matched betting, but we are assured this is not a matched betting service.

Anyway, this service apparently earned a computer genius £81,806.34 in just one year.

The tips have a 96.7% accuracy according to the website, which isn’t quite on the level of “guaranteed” (which would be 100%) but is pretty darn close.

So we wonder what odds they tip at with such a high strike rate. It must be very short odds, or perhaps some kind of hedging system.

The sales page tells the story of the author of the system, Eddie Newman, who apparently came from a tough background but learnt computer science and after graduating from university, developed his own betting system using sophisticated algorithms and statistical data.

This system can supposedly now pick winners with over 95% accuracy.

We have to say we are intrigued, but also somewhat sceptical.

Anyway, we will run a three month trial of this and see if the results live up to the promises on the sales page.

As ever, we will back soon with our first update.

In the meantime you can check out Guaranteed Winners here.

Thoroughbred Betting – Final Review

We have reached the end of our three month trial of Thoroughbred Betting and here are the final results:-

Thoroughbred Betting – Full Review

Thoroughbred Betting is a horse racing tipster and is a sister service to the Elite Betting Syndicate, a service we reviewed recently and that passed with flying colours.

Unfortunately we are sorry to say that it hasn’t been the same story for Thoroughbred Betting, who have experienced something of a struggle during our three month trial.

They have ended up 25 points down to advised prices, which equates to a 50% loss of the bank and a -17% ROI.

As you can see from the graph below, it was a really bad run towards the end of the trial that did for them.

Thoroughbred Betting Profit Graph

At Betfair SP things were even worse, with a loss of 52 points being made, more than double the loss at advised prices.

So it won’t surprise you to learn that this is awarded a FAILED rating and is not a service we could recommend at the current time.

Of course it could just be that we hit the service at the wrong time, but given the scale of the losses we worry about that kind of run happening again.

Service Breakdown

Ease of use:  With an average of just two bets per day and tips sent out in the evening before racing, this is a simple service to follow.

Availability of prices:  As mentioned above and as with the Elite Betting Syndicate, the prices do get pushed in quite considerably by the off, so you do need to get your bets on quickly. We are not sure based on the results of our trial that the service would be practical to follow at Betfair SP.

Strike rate: The strike rate for the trial was 18%, which is probably quite a bit below where it needs to be to generate a profit.

Advised Betting Bank: There was no bank advised for the service, so we used a 50 point bank which lost 50% of its value during the trial and at Betfair SP was wiped out.

Subscription costs: The subscription costs are £1 for 7 days then £37+VAT per month.

OVERALL VERDICT: FAILED

Sadly when you lose 50% of your bank during a trial the only fair outcome is going to be a failed rating and that is the case with Thoroughbred Betting.

It may have been that we happened to hit them during a particularly bad run, but the scale of the losses was worrying for us and would have tested the patience of most subscribers.

Hopefully they can turn things around but for the time being this is not a service we can recommend.

Thoroughbred Betting – Results Update

20th May 2017

Sadly a review that started off very positively going 15 points into profit early on has turned around quite significantly in the wrong direction for Thoroughbred Betting.

They have lost 27 points since our last update, meaning they are now 24 points down for the trial overall at advised prices.

You can view full results here.

As we have said before, it doesn’t look like this service is practical to follow at Betfair SP, with 27 points lost since our last update and 50 points lost overall.

————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Thoroughbred Betting – Results Update

2nd May 2017

Not much change for Thoroughbred Betting at advised prices, with just one point lost since our last update a month ago.

That means they are 3 points up for the trial overall.

You can view full results here.

At Betfair SP things have been faring somewhat worse, with 6 points lost since our last update and 23 points lost overall.

Let’s hope they can pick things up over the remainder of the trial and finish with a flourish.

————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Thoroughbred Betting – Results Update

6th April 2017

It’s been an up and down start to our trial of horse racing tipster Thoroughbred Betting, who are 4 points up at advised prices so far.

You can view full results here.

That doesn’t tell the whole story though – we were 15 points up at one stage and 5 points down at another, so as we say a little bit of a mini-rollercoaster.

There is a big difference with the results at Betfair SP though, which are 17 points down so far. It does appear to be a service where you need to get on the early prices with the bookies.

Back soon with more updates.

Thoroughbred Betting – New Review

4th March 2017

A Thoroughbred – a “hot-blooded” horse known for its agility, speed and spirit.

Developed in 17th and 18th century England, thoroughbreds were a result of crossbreeding imported Oriental stallions of Arabian, Barb, and Turkoman breeding with native mares.

Apparently all modern thoroughbreds can trace their pedigree to just three stallions imported in the 17th and 18th centuries.

Anyway, enough of the history lesson. Thoroughbreds are the topic of our latest trial here at Honest Betting Reviews – a horse racing service called Thoroughbred Betting.

The team behind the service don’t just bet on thoroughbreds, but a wide variety of horses. Having been banned from all major UK bookmakers, they have turned their attention to helping people like us beat the bookies instead.

Using a wealth of knowledge and wide-ranging industry contacts, they have built up a strong methodology to generate profits.

Indeed, the results published on the website look highly impressive – more than £32,000 profit in less than two years at a return on investment of over 130%!

Of course we can’t vouch for those results as we have only recently come across the website, but that is why we will be running a trial now to see if they can reproduce those kind of results under live trial conditions.

Those of you who checked out our recent new trial of Elite Betting Syndicate may notice the similarity in the style of the website and indeed these tips do seem to be from the same stable.

That is good news as far as we are concerned, because the Elite Betting Syndicate has been going great guns!

The other piece of good news is that Thoroughbred are offering a one week trial for just £1, so you can check out the tips for yourself for 7 days before signing up to a longer subscription.

We started receiving the tips on 25th Feb, so we will record results from then onwards.

We will update results here regularly during the trial so you can see how things are progressing.

In the meantime you can check out Thoroughbred Betting here.

The Professor’s Formula – Full Review

The Professor’s Formula is a horse racing tipster from the Tipster Street stable, who specialises in flat racing on both the turf and all-weather.

Sadly the Professor has had one of those trials where pretty much everything has gone wrong and we have ended up 57 points down in the end.

As you can see from the graph below, at one stage we were actually over 80 points down, so in some ways it could have been worse.

The Professor's Formula Profit Graph

Either way though it has been a painful trial and we have no choice but to award the Professor’s Formula a FAILED rating unfortunately.

Of course it could just be one of those instances where we caught the service at a bad time, but any service that loses such a large portion of your bank will test the patience of any gambler and will be too much for most to bear.

Service Breakdown

Ease of use:  There is approximately just one tip per day, which is sent out in the morning of racing.

Availability of prices:  With Betfair SP used for all tips, you know you can match the published results.

Strike rate: The strike rate for the trial was 26%, which in itself is no disaster, but there were no really big winners in there to make the low strike rate profitable.

Advised Betting Bank: A 100 point bank is advised for following the service, which came close to being wiped out at one point as we went over 80 points down.

Subscription costs: The subscription fees are £3.79 for the first month then £14.95 per month or £29.95 per quarter.

OVERALL VERDICT: FAILED

Unfortunately with 57% of our bank being lost over the trial, The Professor’s Formula has failed to make the grade and is not a service we can recommend at this stage.

On to the next trial for us…

The Professor’s Formula – Results Update

30th April 2017

This is one of those rare services which uses Betfair SP to record results, which is refreshing because you know prices are obtainable and results are not inflated.

Although it has been a slow start, to be fair they tip at high odds, with selections up to 70/1, so there are likely to be losing streaks when following this service.

Hopefully things will have picked up by the time of our next update.

The Professor’s Formula – New Review

7th February 2017

After recently commencing a trial of a promising Tipster Street service – Shane Murphy’s Irish Tips – we thought we would follow it up with another.

This time it is the turn of the intriguingly named The Professor’s Formula.

It is a horse racing service that has been running for over two years and in that time has produced 320 points profit.

Although they don’t give away what the formula is – understandably – it is applied to flat turf and all weather racing only.

Of particular note is the fact that it uses the exchanges, which I know will appeal to many of you who have lost access to their bookie accounts.

The Professor has landed some massive winners in his time tipping, including Petite Jack at Lingfield in June last year at a whopping BSP of 59.74, which netted a very pleasant 167 points profit.

The average monthly profit is a healthy £525 to £25 stakes and the return on investment is an impressive 35%.

With a strike rate of 39%, the Professor has some impressive metrics that give us encouragement that this may be a top service.

Only time will tell of course, so we will run our normal three month trial here and will report back soon on how things are progressing.

In the meantime, you can check out the Professor’s Formula here.
