Football Hedging System – Full Review

The Football Hedging System is a much talked-about suite of football trading systems run by Tony Langley.

There has been a great deal of interest from the gambling community about the Football Hedging System and it seems to have generated some heated debate – although most comment has been positive overall.

Membership has now been closed – we understand for good – so doing a review may be a bit of a moot point now but we thought we would do one anyway for the sake of completeness and just in case it does open again at some point in the future.

Results

We tested the systems for six months, so what did we think?

Well, overall our views are very positive.

The systems Tony has designed clearly work, and if you follow his trades you would have done very well indeed.

We made 387 points profit from following Tony’s trades, which represented nearly 200% growth of the bank and is excellent going in anyone’s book.

And part of that was during the quieter summer months, so there is the potential to do even better than that.

So it’s a clear passed rating for the Football Hedging System, but there are some issues with it that we want to deal with further below.

How Does it Work?

Firstly, you may be wondering how it works. Well, upon signing up, you get access to the FHS members area, which has an array of training guides and videos explaining each of the systems. You are also sent a hard copy manual of the systems in the post.

The systems all involve trading on Betfair and have video examples of trades to show you how to operate the systems.

As a member you also receive Tony’s e-mails, which provide live updates of games he is trading with instructions and screenshots.

There were five systems to trade during our trial, although the majority of trades focus on two of the systems.

Please note that the systems are complicated! Yes, even seasoned traders may take quite a bit of time to learn to trade these systems and a good deal of practice is required to get them right. Tony advises paper trading until you have mastered them, which is sound advice.

The Recovery

The essence of these systems is that they are designed in such a way that you should never lose a trade, because there is a “recovery” process you can follow to get yourself out of trouble if a trade goes wrong.

Now the recovery is complicated and involves backing various different things at the same time. You need to be able to work out how much to place on each separate bet and to do it quickly. That can be very challenging!

I used Bet Angel to assist with this, which has a nifty hedging tool to work out the amount needed to cover a given liability and that certainly helped.

In our experience, the recoveries do “work” as such, if you can get them on in time before another goal is scored.

However, here is the rub of things. In some instances you might not be able to do this and so you could lose a significant portion of your stake in this instance.

Let’s say one of the trades involves using the unders markets. If there is a rush of goals – and anyone who has traded football matches for any length of time will know that can definitely happen – you might not have time to get the trades on and just be left with a lost bet.

The same could happen if you were trading involving backing one team and the other team scored two or three quick goals.

So the systems are not completely foolproof. This should be recognised if you are signing up to the Football Hedging System.

There is nothing we have ever encountered (other than matched betting of course) that can guarantee you a profit whatever happens.

If there was then we would be millionaires and probably wouldn’t be running this website but would be off in the Bahamas being served cocktails by beautiful young ladies instead! 🙂

So please don’t think that this guarantees you winning 100% of the time.

There was also one instance when we were paper trading one match and there was an incredible first half, with the score being 4-2 at half-time.

We asked Tony how we should have traded during that half and he admitted that really it wasn’t possible in that instance.

A first half finishing 4-2 is an extremely rare occurrence though so we shouldn’t get too hung up about that one game.

The other issue with the recovery though is that often you require high multiples of your stake to make it work, especially when there are two or more goals against you. So if for example you started off with total stakes of £100, the recovery might need up to £1,000 to make it work.

That is fine if it does work, but obviously does limit the kind of staking you can do somewhat.

The issue of the recoveries was tackled with the introduction of the stop loss, which is dealt with below.

Tony’s Trades

Having said all this about the recovery process however, it is worth noting that even if you had not used the recovery process but just traded out if things had gone against you and taken a 50% loss of the stake, here are the results from Tony’s trades since he started:

Total Trades 314
Total Recoveries 32
Total Successful Trades 282
Strike Rate 89.8%

Using just a £300 bank delivered a net profit return of £938.93 which is a 308.6% bank growth without compounding.

So even without the recovery, just by following Tony’s trades you would have done very well. This shows just how good Tony is at selecting matches with the criteria for his systems.

The Stop Loss

Perhaps in response to concerns over the problems with the recovery process, Tony recently added some new methods that involve placing “stop losses” so that even if things go against you, you have trades placed that insure you against losing too much.

These are certainly a welcome addition and do add some considerable protection. However, these still need you to trade quickly when things happen in a game, so there is the same risk of lots of goals affecting you. But the amount at risk is less which is good.

The Price

The price for the Football Hedging System is exceptionally high compared to the vast majority of tipsters and betting systems we have reviewed on here, at £1297 for the cheapest package, plus £201 per month for Tony’s advice and e-mails.

So the question is, is that cost justified?

Well, it will depend on a certain extent on how large your staking is as that will define how long it takes to win back the cost of the subscription.

Over the long term you should make it back even with relatively modest staking, but it could take up to a year or longer.

In our view, the cost of the system is too high relative to everything else on the market and should be lower.

However, the cost hasn’t stopped large numbers of people signing up, so clearly people are prepared to pay the substantial fees for access to the system.

And of course there is always the option of a refund, as long as you follow the rules set out regarding refunds in their terms and conditions.

OVERALL VERDICT: PASSED

The Football Hedging System is a suite of systems for trading the football markets on Betfair.

During our trial, we made 387 points profit from following the trades and nearly trebled our bank, with nearly 90% of the trades being successful. These are excellent results by anyone’s standards.

It has been claimed that using the systems means you “can’t lose” because they include a recovery process that allows you to supposedly at least break even from a trade, even if it goes against you.

We don’t think this is quite true, because if there are goals scored before you can execute all aspects of the trade, then you will lose money.

Plus there was a match during the trial where the recovery process didn’t work.

So the process isn’t completely foolproof in our view – you can still lose with it.

However, even without the recovery process, just by following Tony’s trades and accepting 50% loss of the stake when a trade goes against you, would still have made you over 300% bank growth, so there is clearly great value in the systems and Tony has great skill at picking the matches.

Ultimately there are a number of approaches to win football bets, and the Football Hedging System has identified a few unique ones.

Overall then in our view, it is a question of whether you can stomach the high joining costs and be prepared to wait potentially up to a year to make those costs back, as well as putting in a great deal of work in learning the systems.

If you are prepared to do these things, then the Football Hedging System is highly recommended.

Football Hedging System – Closing Down

6th September 2016

Just a quick note to say that the Football Hedging System is closing its doors – apparently for good – on Sunday 11th September.

So if you are interested, now is the time to sign up.

We have been paper trading the new stop loss methods over most of July and August and will revert with our final review and comments shortly.

But in the meantime, you can see below that results have been pretty decent over the course of the trial and if you are serious about your trading and can devote the time to making it work, then the Football Hedging System is a strong package of trading methods.

Get on board now if you don’t want to miss out.

Football Hedging System – Results Update

1st July 2016

More positive progress for Football Hedging System since our last update.

We have added a further 123 points of profit in the last month to stand at 387 points in profit for the trial as a whole.

You can view full results here.

I mentioned previously that I was looking for a bot to trade the systems automatically. Whilst I haven’t quite managed that, I have started using Bet Angel to hedge the correct scores all at once, we saves a lot of time and messing around with a calculator.

Interestingly, Tony has responded to one of the criticisms of the system – that if things keep going against you in a match you need to keep adding massive amounts of bets to operate the recovery – by introducing a new “stop loss” method.

This basically sets things up so there isn’t a need to do this and makes the potential bank needed for a trade much more manageable.

I am still getting used to this new stop loss system but if it works as well as Tony suggests then it would be a good improvement and would really take the Football Hedging System towards a top rating from us.

One other thing to mention – whilst the system is now closed to new members, we understand that Tony is considering allowing in a small number of new members at the start of the next football season – so watch this space as it were…

Football Hedging System – Results Update

29th May 2016

Things have continued to progress well for the Football Hedging System, with a further 63 points of profit added since our last update.

That means for the trial so far, we are 264 points in profit and moving along very nicely.

You can view full results here.

What is interesting is that Tony sent round an e-mail a few days ago showing the results since the service started, if you had not even used the recovery process but just traded out if things had gone against you and taken a 50% loss of the stake.

The results were as follows:

Total Trades 314
Total Recoveries 32
Total Successful Trades 282
Strike Rate 89.8%

Using just a £300 bank delivered a net profit return of £938.93 which is a 308.6% bank growth without compounding.

So mighty impressive stuff, showing that even if you didn’t manage to quite master the recovery process, you could still do very well from the Football Hedging System.

However, of course you should try and master the process as that will increase the profits and mean you break even on the trades that go wrong rather than lose.

We will be back soon with more updates.

Football Hedging System – Results Update

4th May 2016

It has been a quiet time for the Football Hedging System as Tony has been on holiday for a couple of weeks so we haven’t had any trades since 13th April.

However, up to that point I had added a further 20 points of profit since our last update to stand at 201 points in profit for the trial so far.

You can view full results here.

My results for the recoveries haven’t been as good as Tony’s as I am still practicing and learning, so for example on the Roma v Bologna match I made a scratch trade where as Tony made an 18% profit.

He is now tending to attach screenshots to show his positions which is reassuring as you can see that it can be done.

My results also do not include a number of method five selections, which are ones that crop up spontaneously during matches, so if you are not at your computer when that happens you will miss them – as I have.

However, here are Tony’s results for those Method Five Selections:

  • 5th April -East Bengal v Mumbai – ?
  • 6th April – Stallion v Global – 9.59% profit
  • 9th April – Southampton v Newcastle – 5.33% profit
  • 10th April – Nice v Rennes – 6.5% profit

We didn’t receive details of the profits achieved from the East Bengal v Mumbai game, but the others would have added a further 21.42% profit.

Our comments remain much the same as last time – we can see the power of the system but think a bot would help enormously with this to automate things.

Back soon with our next update – Tony is due back from holiday next Monday (9th May) so we should be back trading again then.

The other thing to mention is that the Football Hedging System is currently closed to new members, but we understand they may consider opening their doors again when Tony returns.

Watch this space as they say…

Football Hedging System – Results Update

4th April 2016

Things have continued in very positive fashion for Tony Langley’s Football Hedging System.

Since our last update we have added a further 40 points of profit to stand at 180 points up for the trial after one month.

You can view full results here.

We have now had a chance to undertake a recovery as a trade went against us in the Ascoli v Vicenza game.

It is a bit of a panic at first when one happens and you try to get all the bets on quickly at the right stakes – this is certainly something you need to practice quite a lot to get right.

I didn’t quite get it right and made a small loss on the trade, but viewing Tony’s screenshots I can see you could have got out at even for the trade.

I actually think what this system would really benefit from is a bot to automate the recovery – then I think you would have the ultimate money making machine.

So any budding bot makers out there…please do get in touch!

Anyway, I also missed a trade on the Switzerland v Rep of Ireland match that would have required a recovery. It was an “advanced method two” so not quite ready for that yet.

There have also been a couple of method fives I have missed as they crop up during the games so it depends if you are at your computer when Tony sends the opportunity as to whether you can do them.

Overall I have been impressed with this so far, the strike rate is as high as promised and I can see the logic in the recoveries.

It is just a question of practicing the recoveries until they become more or less automatic. Tony has helpfully provided some video footage recently of recoveries in action, so this is aiding with the learning process.

Back soon with more updates on the Football Hedging System, hopefully when I have the recovery fully down!

Football Hedging System – Results Update

21st March 2016

It has been an excellent start to our trial of Football Hedging System, with all trades being successful since we started two weeks ago.

That means we are over 140 points in profit already.

You can view full results here.

So in terms of the success rate of the system, things certainly seem to be living up to the sales claims so far.

The real test of this system though is when things go wrong and you have to launch what is called a “recovery” to get back what you have risked.

Now we haven’t had any opportunities to undertake recoveries so far, but having looked at the examples and practiced a couple, it seems like a logical method and as far as we can see, should work.

It is complicated though – particularly if there are lots of quick goals in succession – so we are still getting to grips with it.

But so far so good for the Football Hedging System.

Back soon – hopefully when we have a live “recovery” completed!

Football Hedging System – New Review

9th March 2016

There is a real buzz around at the moment about a new football trading system that has hit the internet recently.

It is called the Football Hedging System by Tony Langley and I am not sure if I can remember quite as much excitement about a new system.

When you see the sales page you can perhaps understand the excitement.

It makes some extraordinary claims, headlining with the line that in the last few years, a full time working guy has made over £230,000 from using the system.

Even more amazing is the claim that since June 2015, there has not been a single losing trade!

Apparently the system has devised a method for trading football matches on Betfair in such a way that you cannot lose.

Well if that is the case then I think is probably the betting “holy grail.”

You can supposedly make an estimated £9,000 to £12,000 per month trading the system, by winning 90% of your trades and at worst breaking even on the other 10%.

Tony Langley's Football Hedging System

Now with claims like these, the system doesn’t come cheap.

The lowest cost package is the “Gold” option that comes at an upfront payment of £1,297 followed by a monthly subscription of £201 per month which includes support and Tony’s trading selections.

Next is the Platinum package, which costs £1,597 upfront followed by monthly subscriptions of £121.

Finally there is the Diamond Package of £2,597 which includes lifetime support and 28 weeks of selections.

However, there is a risk free 145 day trial of the service available. To qualify for getting your money back you have to have traded at least 30% of Tony’s trades, recorded them in a log and not achieved at least a 30% growth of your bank per month.

Now thankfully Tony has been kind enough to provide me with a copy of the Football Hedging System and the selections for three months so I can test the system, which is a good sign he is confident in the system.

When I first came across this system I have to say I was suspicious as I have seen similarly wild claims made before by other systems over the years that sadly haven’t turned out to be true.

However, there are quite a few people saying this does actually work which is interesting. As ever, only time will tell under a live trial.

I will revert soon with an update on how things are going with the system, hopefully having got my head around it as from what I have seen so far it is very complicated.

In the meantime, you can check out Football Hedging System here.

Betfair Renegade – Final Review

Betfair Renegade Full Review

Betfair Renegade is a piece of football betting software that is sold (at certain times) as part of the Profit Maximiser package.

What the software does is find value bets that can be placed at the exchanges rather than the bookies.

How does it work?

Here is an example of what the software looks like when you log in:

Betfair Renegade Software

The rating on the left in red is the amount of value the software calculates is in the selection – the higher the number the better.

You are advised to only go for value figures above 10 to give yourself a decent edge over the market.

Then you have the match, the league (or competition), the market, selection and current Betfair Odds in blue.

In yellow on the right are what Betfair Renegade calculates the odds should be for that market.

So all you need to do is open the software, check if any of the ratings on the left are above 10 (or whatever value you choose as your cut-off point), then look at the odds.

For our review, we used maximum odds of 11.0 (10/1). It is up to you what odds you want to use, but obviously the higher the odds you are prepared to accept, then the lower your strike rate will become.

Then you simply place the bets and you are done – there is no trading involved, you just let the bets run.

Results

We chose to follow the software for six months as the Summer period was quieter with few bets, so we wanted enough bets to get a proper sense of how well it worked.

Well we are pleased to say it worked very well, with 233 points profit made to 10 point stakes (or 23 points to 1 point stakes).

Here are the results in graph format:

Betfair Renegade Profit Graph

As you can see, things started off well, tailed off towards the middle but then took off later on to finish well in profit.

That profit came with a strike rate of 20% and a return on investment of 14%, which is very good for football betting.

It is important to be aware that everyone’s results from using Betfair Renegade will differ slightly depending on when you access the software each day as the selections are constantly changing as the odds change.

However, the fundamental value will always be there so in the long run the profit made should be pretty similar.

Overall we think the results are very impressive and given how tough it has been to find a winning football tipster or betting system, it is great to find something as simple and effective as Betfair Renegade.

We are therefore happy to recommend Betfair Renegade in its own right and given how good Profit Maximiser already is, then with Betfair Renegade added in you are getting one very special betting package.

Service Breakdown

Ease of use: The software is very easy to use and it only takes a couple of minutes per day to operate. It even links straight through to the relevant Betfair page, so all the work is done for you!

Availability of prices: The vast majority of the time you will be able to get your bets matched, but occasionally there won’t be enough liquidity so you may have to put in an order and wait for your bet to be matched.

Strike rate: The strike rate for the trial was 20%, so some patience will be required when following the service.

Advised Betting Bank: We used a 100 point bank for the trial to 1 point stakes (or 1000 to 10 point stakes), which was never threatened and should be comfortable for this system.

Subscription costs: Profit Maximiser is available for a 14-day trial for just £1, followed by a payment of £96. Please note that Betfair Renegade is only available at certain times, so to check if it is available, please contact Mike Cruikshank at support@bonusbagging.co.uk

OVERALL VERDICT: PASSED

Betfair Renegade – which comes on a limited basis as part of Profit Maximiser – ticks two of the major boxes for us in terms of what we are looking for from a football betting system.

Firstly, it can make a profit – having made over 230 points during our trial.

Secondly, it is profitable at Betfair so doesn’t require use of the bookies.

It is remarkably simple to use as well and should take no more than a few minutes each day to place the bets.

So it’s a definite thumbs up from us for Betfair Renegade and a worthy addition to your betting portfolio.

Make sure you check with the owner Mike Cruickshank whether it is available though as he only sells limited copies – you can e-mail him at support@bonusbagging.co.uk

Betfair Renegade – Results Update

18th August 2016

Betfair Renegade has been going great guns since our last update, adding 227 points profit since our last update, bringing it to 208 points up for the trial overall.

You can view full results here.

This is football betting software that finds value selections on Betfair. It is incredibly easy to use, you just click into it and the selections for the day are there automatically.

You can only get access to it through purchasing the Profit Maximiser matched betting system.

It has been a bit slow over the summer with few bets but now we are in the main football season, things are picking up.

Good to see the positive results lately and let’s hope that continues.

Betfair Renegade – Results Update

20th July 2016

Things have continued to pick up for Betfair Renegade  – a piece of football software available as part of the Profit Maximiser betting suite – since our last update, adding a further 14 points of profit to bring it back to -19 points for the trial overall.

You can view full results here.

It is very quiet at the moment however, with at most one selection per day and many days without selections.

So we will get a better picture of things when the football season starts again and there are many more selections to go on.

Under a month to go now until the new football season – we are counting down the days!

Betfair Renegade – Results Update

20th June 2016

Things have picked up a bit for Betfair Renegade – a piece of football software available as part of the Profit Maximiser betting suite – since our last update.

It has added a nice 52 points of profit over the last month, taking the total for the trial to date to 33 points down.

You can view full results here.

It must be stressed that the software churns out lots of selections, so no two people would necessarily get the same results. Our results are from checking the software a couple of times per day, but if you checked at different times to us you would no doubt have different results.

Most of the selections are long shots, so a degree of patience is required with Betfair Renegade. Indeed, the average odds of our bets so far has been 6.3, so just over 5/1.

Anyway, good to see the comeback from Betfair Renegade and let’s hope it continues.

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Betfair Renegade – Results Update

20th May 2016

Unfortunately there has been a bit of a downturn for Betfair Renegade since our last update, with 140 points lost over the last month.

That means we are now 84 points down for the trial so far, or 8.4 points down to 1 point level stakes.

You can view full results here.

It is worth mentioning that we haven’t been able to record every selection that the software generates, as that changes all the time according to odds movement and there are some days we have missed, so you may have got different results to us if you had been using the software.

Anyway, let’s hope things pick up for us over the remainder of the trial.

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Betfair Renegade – Results Update

21st April 2016

It has been a solid start to our trial of Betfair Renegade, which is a piece of software that finds value selections in football matches on Betfair. It is available as part of the Profit Maximiser betting package.

So far we are 55 points in profit to 10 point stakes after 29 bets.

You can view full results here.

The system is super-easy to use. You just log in, check the software page and see if there are any matches that fit your criteria.

Then you can click links on the page straight through to Betfair and place the bet – so you can be done in a couple of minutes.

So far we haven’t made as much use of the tool is we could have done, so we will try to make sure we find more selections and get a greater quantity of results to measure it by.

But results to date have been good, with a couple of cracking winners including Watford to beat Arsenal at 10.5 and Cowdenbeath to beat Peterborough at 11.

The other thing to mention is that we have amended the original criteria slightly to include matches with odds of up to 11 and value ratings of 10 and above. This is because with our original criteria there were just too few matches really.

Back soon with more updates.

Betfair Renegade – New Review

11th March 2016

Regular visitors to Honest Betting Reviews will know we are big fans of Mike Cruickshank’s products.

We have given top ratings to a number of his systems, including Profit Maximiser, Bonus Bagging, Each-Way Sniper and Accumulator Generator.

So every time Mike releases something new, we – and probably a good number of you – get rather excited.

The latest product from Mike is something called Betfair Renegade.

Now at first I was wondering what this might be about as it sounded more like a film with Wesley Snipes in it than a betting system.

However, this is in fact something quite new for Mike and it will be of interest to those you who live outside of the UK and Ireland who unfortunately can’t enjoy some of Mike’s other products.

This is in fact a straightforward betting method – no trading, no matched betting, just a tool for identifying value in football matches on Betfair.

It is apparently based on a mathematical algorithm that has crunched the numbers on thousands of passed matched and come up with a way to identify value.

Now I am sometimes sceptical of things like this that are based on so-called “advanced maths,” but given Mike’s past record of success on betting systems I am more interested than I would normally be.

The software basically spews out markets where it has identified value and gives you a rating based on how much of an edge it calculates you have over Betfair on that particular market.

You then just place the bets on Betfair and you are done! That is it – amazingly simple.

Mike advises backing only those selections that are priced under 10 and where there is an edge of at least 15%.

So we are going to have a go at following those criteria and seeing how we do over the course of a trial.

It will be interesting to see if the 15% edge translates into that kind of level of profit over the long term.

Our aim is to proof at least 100 bets and see how the system performs.

Now at the moment Betfair Renegade is only available as a bonus product when you subscribe to Profit Maximiser, but we have asked Mike if he plans to release it separately as a stand-alone product.

Will update you when I have further news on this front.

Football Advisor – Full Review

Football Advisor is a football tipster that has been running since 2014 and who has established an enviable reputation in that time.

Since starting up, they have amassed over 350 points of profit at a strike rate of over 35%.

So how did they get on during our trial?

Well, results were solid rather than spectacular, with 8 points profit being accumulated over our three month trial.

Here is how things went in graph format:

Football Advisor Profit Graph

As you can see, a bit of a rollercoaster over the trial but a nice profit in the end.

There are a good volume of bets, with nearly 200 bets being advised over the trial, even though it was conducted largely over the Summer.

Tips are sent out by e-mail and are sent with plenty of time before matches, often the day before.

Here is an example of an e-mail:

——————————————————————————————————————————————
Slovakia v England

The Sam Allardyce era gets underway today in earnest as England play away against Slovakia on Sunday. This will also be England’s first game since that humiliating defeat to Iceland at the Euro’s.

Hodgson, Capello, McLaren, Eriksson, Keegan, Hoddle, El Tel and even Graham Taylor all won their first game. In fact, you have to go all the way back to Bobby Robson before we find an England Manager who did not win their first game – a 2v2 draw against Denmark.

The only England manager to lose their first game was Sir Alf Ramsey – And that didn’t work out to bad in the end did it. So perhaps a defeat for Big Sam, will be a positive sign after all.

England & Big Sam to start with a win.

Today’s selections below

2.00u – England win at 2.05 with Ladbrokes (World Cup / Slovakia)
0.60u – England -1.5 at 4.00 with Uni (World Cup / Slovakia)

It is good to see some analysis with the tips and the logic behind the bets being made. You do worry sometimes whether some tipsters are just sticking a pin in a piece of a paper to pick their tips!

Anyway, we feel that the profit made during the trial wasn’t quite enough to warrant a recommended rating for Football Advisor.

Betting at £10 per point would have made you £80 profit over the trial, but then with subscription costs of £97 per month or £197 per quarter, that wouldn’t have covered the fees.

So we think a neutral rating is the fairest verdict at this stage.

However, with an impressive long-term record and considering our trial was run mainly over the Summer, we think it is worth keeping an eye on Football Advisor to see how they progress over the coming months.

Service Breakdown

Ease of use: As mentioned above, tips are normally sent out in good time before matches, so plenty of time to get your bets on. Although there are two bets per day on average, it is more a case of some days with no bets and then others (normally weekends) with 5 or 6.

Availability of prices: The prices were generally very much available and in some instances by using the exchanges you could even beat the advised prices.

Strike rate: The strike rate for the trial was 34%, which is a little below the long-term average of 38% and probably explains why results weren’t quite as good as previously.

Advised Betting Bank: No betting bank was advised, but we used a 100 point bank for the trial, which should be enough to cover losing runs.

Subscription costs: Subscription costs are £97/month, £197/quarter or £388/6 months.

OVERALL VERDICT: NEUTRAL

As regular followers of Honest Betting Reviews will know, finding a profitable football tipster has proved very difficult indeed!

So coming into the trial of Football Advisor, we were quite hopeful of finally having found a quality and honest football tipping service.

We are not disappointed by the results by any means and a profit is a profit.

However, given the high subscription costs of £97 per month or £197 per quarter, you would need to have bet at around £50 – £100 per point to really make this worthwhile.

Now there may be some of you out there who can bet at those stakes, but for the majority staking of £10 – £20 per point would be more realistic.

So we feel a neutral verdict is reasonable at this stage and we will keep an eye on things for a while to see how things develop for Football Advisor.

Football Advisor – Results Update

28th July 2016

Footy tipster Football Advisor has been on a strong run since our last update, adding over 13 points of profit to stand at 11 points up for the trial as a whole.

You can view full results here.

They had a nice winner predicting Portugal to win the Euros, which to be fair not many people did.

After the Euros they took a well-earned break for a couple of weeks but are back in action now with the tips flowing again.

Lots to like about Football Advisor and strong results to date.

Football Advisor – Results Update

23rd June 2016

It has been a fairly even start so far for Football Advisor, with 2.5 points lost for the trial after three weeks.

You can view full results here.

Just to recap, Football Advisor is a football tipster that provides tips by e-mail for major football leagues and tournaments.

It has been a busy time for them with the Euros and Copa America going on. After three weeks we have already had 90 bets, which is quite high for a football service.

Things had started off very strongly in June, but have just tailed off slightly with some of the topsy-turvy results in the Euros.

Anyway, not much lost so far and plenty of time for things to pick up.

Football Advisor – New Review

31st May 2016

Our long search for a winning football tipster finally found some success recently in the form of Thomo’s Tips, who managed a very profitable trial here on the site and have continued to do well since our trial ended.

Not resting on our laurels however, we are always on the lookout for new football tipsters of promise.

One that we have been hearing a fair bit about on the grapevine is Football Advisor, a very impressive and professional-looking football tipping website that has been around since 2014.

They tip mainly in the big European leagues and international tournaments and matches, although there are a few bets in some of the minor leagues as well.

Football Advisor’s record since they started just before the 2014 World Cup is pretty outstanding for a football tipster, with just under 350 points profit having been accumulated.

Those profits have been achieved at a return on investment of 26% and a strike rate of 38%, both very strong metrics.

With results like these, the service is understandably one of the more pricey ones around, with subscriptions costing £97/month, £197/quarter or £388 for 6 months.

However, if they can maintain the kind of results achieved to date then those subscription costs would be well worth it, presuming of course you can bet at reasonable stakes.

Although the end of May isn’t normally the best time to start a trial of a football tipster, we do have the Euros just around the corner which will be a veritable feast of betting, plus the Copa America and of course the Summer leagues.

So plenty of action to get our teeth into and we understand Football Advisor will be betting in all of it.

Without further ado then we will get our trial underway and let’s see if we can add a second service to our list of winning football tipsters.

You can check out Football Advisor here.

CorrectScores.net – Final Review

We have reached the end of our three month trial of CorrectScores.net and here are the final results:

Profit/loss:    -4 points
Strike Rate:    82%
Bank Growth:    -8%
Cost:   £30 per month
ROI:   -5%
Average number of bets:    1 per day
VERDICT:   NEUTRAL
Rating:

You can view full results here.

CorrectScores.net Full Review

CorrectScores.net is a service that involves laying the current score at half time in selected matches in the hope that there will be more goals and hence the bet will win.

At the start of our trial they advised laying any current score at half time as long as the odds were under 6.0.

However, during the trial they changed this to only laying if the score is a certain scoreline, normally 1-0 or 1-1.

That approach means there are less bets but has proved effective for the short time it was in operation.

Overall however, the trial finished with a slightly disappointing 4 points lost.

They also introduced a “lay the 0-2 scoreline” system part way through the trial, but that was also slightly down by the end of our trial.

All in all then we feel like a neutral rating is the fairest judgement here – a small loss was no disaster and there were signs the new approach was proving more effective.

So we will keep an eye on things for a while longer and see if this turns out to be the case.

Service Breakdown

Ease of use: Generally good, bets are sent out in good time before matches and there are usually just 1-3 matches to bet on any one day. You obviously need to be able to monitor the matches and place your potential lay bet at half time if the criteria are met, so may not suit everyone.

Availability of prices: There are no prices advised as such, just whatever the price is at half time and presuming it is below 10.0, which it nearly always is.

Strike rate: The strike rate for the trial was 82%, which on the face of it is good but with laying systems when you hit a loser it does hit the bank quite hard so you need to be prepared for that.

Advised Betting Bank: No betting bank was advised, but we used a 50 point bank for the trial, which seemed plenty enough to take account of any losing runs.

Subscription costs: Subscription costs are £30 per month. The good thing is though that if they have a losing month then you get the next month free (or you can get a refund for the month instead).

OVERALL VERDICT: NEUTRAL

Correctscores.net takes an interesting approach to betting on football, by laying the current score at half-time if it meets certain criteria.

Sadly the results haven’t turned out quite as expected over our trial however.

With 4 points lost, it is certainly not the worst trial we have run though and there were signs the new approach to laying only if the score is certain scorelines appears to be improving things.

So we will keep our eye on things for a while longer and see if results can turn around for them.

CorrectScores.net – Results Update

8th August 2016

It has been a tough time for CorrectScores.net, who have dropped 12 points since our last update to be 14 points down for the trial overall.

You can view full results here.

The methodology for the selections was changed recently. Instead of laying any HT score (apart from 0-0) as we have been doing up until now, they now only say to lay the score at HT if the score is one of certain scorelines (e.g. 1-0, 1-1 etc).

And the maximum lay odds have changed from 6.0 to 10.0

So perhaps this change of approach will lead to an improvement in results – and with the main football season just a week away, there will be more action to choose from.

Back soon with more updates.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

CorrectScores.net – Results Update

11th July 2016

There has been a slight improvement for CorrectScores.net since our last update a month ago.

They have picked up 4 points of profit to sit at -2.5 points so far for the trial.

You can view full results here.

To be honest though, things have been very quiet for them, with only nine bets over the last month.

It is probably a better idea to monitor this service when the main footy season is in progress rather than during the Summer months when there are very few bets.

It’s not long to go now – just one month until the Premier League kicks off again – so we will continue following them into the new season.

The other thing to mention is that they recently started up a second service involving laying the 0-2 scoreline (i.e. laying the underdog to win 2-0).

Unfortunately that second service has not started well and is 15 points down so far after three weeks.

Still, it is very early days so plenty of time to turn things around.

Back soon with more updates.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

CorrectScores.net – Results Update

14th June 2016

It’s been a slow start to our trial of CorrectScores.net, a service that provides matches to lay the current score at half time in.

So far they are 6 points down after three weeks.

You can view full results here.

To be fair, things have been quiet with the end of the football season and there haven’t been very many selections so far.

Interestingly they have recently added a second service to their repertoire, which involves laying the 2-0 in selected matches.

It has apparently made 165 points profit in 4 months, with a strike rate of close to 99%.

The average lay odds for the 2-0 are 30 though, so this is not for the feint-hearted.

We will monitor how the 2-0 service gets on now and see if they can match the impressive pre-trial results.

Back soon with more updates.

CorrectScores.net – New Review

21st May 2016

Alas the main footy season is over – excluding the Champions League final of course.

So you may be feeling withdrawal symptoms already, wondering where you can get your fix of betting on the beautiful game whilst Europe’s big leagues take a break.

Fear not though, just because we are into the Summer, it doesn’t mean football betting has to stop.

Not by a long shot.

The Euros are just around the corner and there are a good number of leagues that play during the Summer including in Scandanavia, Russia, South America and Ireland amongst others.

So strap yourselves in for a new football betting system to keep us footy addicts going over the Summer.

The system is question is called CorrectScores.Net and it follows a very simple strategy.

Basically you get a list of games to potentially bet on in the morning.

Then you lay the current scoreline at half time. as long as two criteria are met:

  • The score is not 0-0 at half time; and
  • You can get odds of less than 6.0.

So a pretty simple setup, there should be no problems following this one.

The published results on the website look very good, albeit over a fairly short period, with 42 points profit made to 1 point level stakes since the service started in February this year.

The system has supposedly been developed over 3 years, so plenty of work has gone into it by the sounds of things.

And to top it off, there is a profit guarantee of 5 points profit per month, so if you don’t make that much profit they will refund your subscription fees.

That shows great confidence in their service and must mean they believe at least 5 points profit will be made per month on a consistent basis.

We ran a trial of similar system a while ago called Half Time Hero that sadly didn’t pan out, but let’s hope for better things from CorrectScores.net

We will return soon with our first update on how things are coming along for this one.

In the meantime, you can check out CorrectScores.net here.

Soccer Goals Syndrome – Final Review

We have reached the end of our three month trial of Soccer Goals Syndrome and here are the final results:

Profit/loss:    -102 points
Strike Rate:    49%
Bank Growth:    -34%
Cost:   £59.97
ROI:   -34%
Average number of bets:    3 per day
VERDICT:   FAILED

Soccer Goals Syndrome – Full Review

With a loss of 102 points, we would normally be inclined to say we were disappointed with Soccer Goals Syndrome.

However, the word disappointment is probably inappropriate here because we were sceptical about the system right at the outset.

Basically this is a system that focuses on finding selections in matches that meet specified criteria and then placing the selections into trixies.

The results published on the website look impressive, but we had immediate concerns on viewing them.

Firstly, there is no explanation given for why some leagues are used and not others, leading us to wonder if the results had been “backfitted,” in the sense of just selecting the leagues that showed profits but without any reasoning behind why those leagues might work.

We also greatly worry about any system that presumes the bookies (and exchanges) are systematically pricing up markets wrongly.

Numerous studies have shown that over the run of a season, the markets price up matches appropriately. So 100/1 shots win 1 in a 100 matches, 200/1 shots win 1 in 200 and so on.

So whilst you may find bookies price things up wrongly for the odd match per week, to think they are systematically pricing up every match wrongly that meets a certain criteria seems fanciful.

And so it proved during our trial.

A very poor return on investment of -34% is enough on its own to give this a failed rating.

But after seeing this profit graph you would probably also be worried:

Soccer Goal's Syndrome Profit Graph

So it probably doesn’t surprise you to learn we are giving this a failed rating and placing firmly in the scrap bin.

OVERALL VERDICT: FAILED

We have tried a few Winningmore products over the years and sadly none of them have worked for us.

Soccer Goals Syndrome is another one to add to the list unfortunately.

We could not see any logic or explanation as to why the system would work and that was borne out by the poor results during our trial.

There was no explanation of why certain leagues are used for the system and that leads us to wonder if the results have been backfitted.

So it’s a failed verdict and time to move on quickly to the next system…

Soccer Goals Syndrome – Results Update

4th March 2016

It has continued to be a struggle for Soccer Goals Syndrome, who have dropped a further 43 points to stand at -75 points for the trial overall.

You can view full results here.

(Our apologies for the mixed up date order in the spreadsheet – to protect the selection process we have to record all selections in a separate spreadsheet and then just record a summary of the results in the one above – which is more easily done by league than in date order).

We expressed some scepticism at the start as to whether such a broad-brush approach as that taken in this system can work and so far that scepticism has been justified.

We questioned why some leagues were used and not others, as there is no reasoning given for this in the system manual.

And with no analysis for individual selections such as looking at recent form or stats, it is difficult to see how a system like this could work in the long run.

Anyway, we have a few weeks left in the trial, so we will see if things pick up towards the end.

Soccer Goals Syndrome – Results Update

21st January 2016

It has been a disappointing start to our trial of Soccer Goals Syndrome, which is 32 points down so far.

You can view full results here.

Basically the system revolves around putting selections in certain leagues into a trixie bet. The selections have to satisfy certain criteria and are found by having a look on Oddschecker or alternative odds comparison site.

It has been a little quiet with the Christmas break for the European leagues, so we haven’t had a huge amount of action so far.

But we haven’t hit a successful trixie yet, which is what is really needed for this system to make a profit.

Hopefully we will have better news at the time of our next update.

Soccer Goals Syndrome – New Review

14th December 2015

Today we are commencing a trial of a football betting system called Soccer Goals Syndrome from the Winningmore stable.

The system is billed as a simple one for football followers and apparently works on “most leagues around the world,” which is slightly ominous.

Having had a look at the manual, it is indeed very straightforward and should only take a few minutes a day to find the selections.

The published results include the following leagues:

  • English Premier League
  • German Bundesliga
  • French Ligue 1
  • Dutch Eredivisie
  • Turkish Premier League
  • N Ireland Premiership
  • Norwegian Tippeligaen
  • Brazil Serie A
  • Swedish Allsvenskan
  • South Koran League

A bit of a random assortment of leagues, not really sure why it is these ones in particular, that is not stated in the manual.

Anyway, since these are the leagues the system apparently works in, these are the ones we will record results for.

Obviously some of these leagues are on their break now so we won’t be using all of them at the moment.

The system claims to have made 673 points profit over the 2014/15 season at a return on investment of 25%.

We are normally skeptical that a system as simple as this can be effective. Our main concern is whether the 673 points profit came from the leagues in which the system made a profit, but how did it perform in other leagues and have the system authors just cherry-picked those leagues that showed positive results?

It would be helpful to have some explanation as to why those leagues in particular were chosen and others excluded.

Anyway, we hope our concerns prove unfounded and the system proves as effective as advertised on the website.

We will return soon with updates, but in the meantime you can check out Soccer Goals Syndrome here.

Free Super Tips – Final Review

We have come to the end of our three month trial of Free Super Tips and here are the final results:

Profit/loss:    -53 points* (+ successful £10 to £1,000 challenge)
Strike Rate:    13%
Bank Growth:    -27%
Cost:   FREE
ROI:   -15%
Average number of tips:    6 per day [football]
VERDICT:    NEUTRAL
Rating:

Free Super Tips Full Review

The first thing we would say about Free Super Tips is that it has not been an easy service to review.

There are so many tips posted on the site that it would be very difficult to follow them all. We have focused on the football bets and excluded the American sports, tennis and golf tips.

And even when talking about the football bets, we have focused on four of the main types of bets: Accumulator bets, Both Teams to Score (BTTS) accas, Both Teams to Score & Win and Daily Doubles, plus the “£10 to £1,000” Challenge.

Whilst the main accumulator bets finished in a loss of 53 points, they did land one of their  “£10 to £1,000” Challenges over the trial, which was impressive.

So on that basis, we think a fair rating is neutral in that following all their bets to £10 stakes probably would have left you with a small profit when you take into account the other £10 to £1,000 challenges that lost.

The nice thing about the website of course is that all tips are free, which is refreshing in this age of some very overpriced tipsters.

Plus everything is very nicely presented and there are quick click-throughs to bet slips with Bet 365 below the tips.

Service Breakdown

Ease of use: It all depends on how many of their tips you want to follow. If you want to follow all of them, then this would be a time-consuming process as there are a large number of tips, plus quite a lot of them are accumulators which take more time to place than individual bets.

Availability of prices: The prices are generally widely available, although there are some more niche bets in obscure leagues where odds can be pushed in, but the most of the time you should be ok to match their prices.

Strike rate: The strike rate for the trial was 13% so you will need some patience if you are following their various accumulator bets.

Advised Betting Bank: A betting bank is not advised for the service but we used a 200 point bank for the trial given the kinds of odds they tip at. Of course you may want to use separate banks for each of the types of bets you follow.

Subscription costs: This is the good news: FREE!

OVERALL VERDICT: NEUTRAL

Free Super Tips is quite a novel website that provides a large number of tips, focused mainly on football but also including other sports as well.

They provide lots of different accumulator bets, meaning you would need a decent sized bank to follow these tips.

Unfortunately their football accumulator tips finished in a 53 point loss over the trial.

However, they did land one of their “£10 to £1,000 Challenges” over the trial as well, an impressive feat.

Overall, if you’d followed all the acca tips plus those Challenges, you would have a small profit, so we think a neutral rating is fair verdict for them.

The great thing is the tips are provided for free, which is good to see in this day and age.

This might be a service for you if you like the buzz of winning big accas and the like, but for the time being this doesn’t quite make it on to our list of the top footy tipsters.

———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

Free Super Tips – Results Update

1st March 2016

Our trial of Free Super Tips had started off very well but sadly things have gone somewhat south for them recently.

They have dropped 59 points since our last update just over a month ago.

That puts them at -45 points for the trial overall.

You can view full results here.

We would stress that this is just covering their football accumulators and not their tips on US sports, tennis or golf.

Just covering their football accumulator tips has been quite a lot of work, so we can’t imagine what it must be like to follow every one of their tips!

Anyway, let’s hope for a couple of big winners before the end of the trial to get things back into the positive.

———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

Free Super Tips – Results Update

26th January 2016

There has been a small loss for Free Super Tips since our last update a few weeks ago. They have dropped 11 points in that time to stand at +14 points for our trial overall.

You can view full results here.

The results take into account their various football betting tips including the regular accumulators, the BTS accas, the BTS & Win accas and the Daily Doubles.

However recently they have also landed one of their “£10 to £1,000” Challenges. This is basically where they start with £10 and then with each bet they place their stake and winnings onto the next bet, so the stake becomes progressively larger until you are betting a few hundred quid at the end.

Once you reach the £1,000 then the challenge is done and you start again. We weren’t proofing these at the beginning but there were bet slips on the website showing the bets so we are fairly sure it was genuine. We will be proofing the £10 to £1,000 Challenges from now on.

So overall this looks like a promising service, particularly as it is free.

Back soon with more updates.

Free Super Tips – Results Update

30th December 2015

It has been a good start to our trial of Free Super Tips, who are +25 points in profit so far after nearly a month of tipping.

You can view full results here.

They tip only in accumulators and have a variety of different categories they provide selections in. So for example there are match betting and over/under accumulators, BTTS (both teams to score) and BTTS & Win accumulators, as well as daily doubles.

They have landed three nice accas so far, at odds of 35/1, 51/1 & 22/1. Two of those have been in the BTTS markets and one in the BTTS & Win market, so that seems to be their specialism based on the evidence so far.

We have only been recording their football tips, but they also tip in American sports including NBA, NHL and College football.

A good start so far and always nice to see a service that provides free tips. Let’s see how things go for them over the next two months.

———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

Free Super Tips – New Review

11th November 2015

We always welcome a service that provides free tips here at Honest Betting Reviews, given the extortionate prices that some tipsters feel justified in charging.

So we are pleased to commence a trial of Free Super Tips, a website offering free tips on football. They offer tips primarily on televised matches and big games, with daily doubles and accumulators as well.

They provide full match previews for the big games, with comprehensive stats and analysis. As ever though, the key thing is the results they produce, so we will be interested to see how they get on during our trial.

There are no results published on the website, which can be a worrying sign but does not always indicate that a service isn’t profitable. Probably worse than that is a service that claims great results that seem too good to be true – normally they are!

Anyway, with detailed match previews and the use of statistics, it appears they have a solid grounding on which to build a potentially profitable service.

And as we say, it is nice to come across a service that offers its tips for free. If their tips are anything like as good as another free service we are trialing at the moment in the form of Betting Bias, then they will be doing well.

We will run our normal three month trial and see how they get on. Please check back here for results updates as the trial progresses.

In the meantime you can check out Free Super Tips here.

Football Fever – Final Review

We have come to the end of our trial of Football Fever and here are the final results:

Profit/loss:    -12 points
Strike Rate:    46%
Bank Growth:    -24%
Cost:   £2.49 for first month then £9.95/month or £19.95/quarter
ROI:   -7%
Average number of bets:    1 per day
VERDICT:   FAILED
Rating:

Football Fever Full Review

Football Fever is a service we had high hopes for coming into the trial, thinking we may have discovered a profitable football-only tipster at last.

Sadly that hasn’t turned out to be the case during our trial, with 12 points lost, which represents a decline of the bank of 24%.

That in our view was just a borderline fail, it could have been a neutral rating but just fell into the failed category.

As you can see from the graph below, things were going well for a while but sadly really dipped in the last part of the trial in late January and February.

Football Fever Profit Graph

Still, we think it is worth keeping an eye on Football Fever to see if results improve in the long term.

Service Breakdown

Ease of use: There is around just 1 bet per day, so it does not take long at all to get the bets on and you are done for the day.

Availability of prices: The prices were freely available, with most of the bets coming in the big leagues where there is plenty of liquidity.

Strike rate: The strike rate for the trial was 46%, which is a little lower than it needs to be to generate a profit when tipping at these prices.

Advised Betting Bank: A 50 point bank is advised for following Football Fever, which seems more than adequate to us with a strike rate close to 50% over the long term. Even with a tough run during the trial, the bank was never in jeopardy.

Subscription costs: The subscription costs are very reasonable at £2.49 for first month then £9.95 per month or £19.95 per quarter

OVERALL VERDICT: FAILED

It has been a disappointing trial for Football Fever in the sense that at the outset we really thought we may have found a winning football tipster at last.

Coming into the trial they had amassed five winning months out of five at a return on investment of over 17%.

However, as is so often the case, when it came to the live trial they sadly failed to live up to expectations.

With 12 points and 24% of the bank lost, this is just below the level of a neutral rating for us and means unfortunately we feel a failed rating is justified based on the results of our trial.

However, if they could recapture the form shown prior to our trial, then a re-rating could certainly be in order.

Football Fever – Results Update

18th January 2016

The downturn has unfortunately continued for Football Fever, who have lost a further 3.5 points since our last update.

That means they are now -4 points for the trial overall.

You can view full results here.

They had a good December racking up 6 points profit but sadly January has been something of a nightmare so far with 13 points lost.

Although the trial has now been going for over 3 months, we are yet to reach the minimum 100 bet mark so we will continue things for another month or so.

Let’s hope things finish with a flourish for Football Fever between now and then.

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Football Fever – Results Update

21st December 2015

It has been a slight downturn for Football Fever, who have lost 5 points since our last update to sit -0.58 points down so far after just over two months.

You can view full results here.

It is a common theme with football tipsters at the moment, who pretty much all seem to be struggling. There have some funny results around to be honest, so perhaps that explains things.

Anyway, we are more or less where we started with Football Fever, so no damage done and hopefully they can kick on over the Christmas period and into the New Year.

Back soon with more updates.

Football Fever – Results Update

9th November 2015

It has been a strong start to our trial of Football Fever, who have amassed 4.64 points profit in the first month of the trial.

With football tipsters you do well to make 5 points or more profit per month to 1 point level stakes as you are tipping at much lower odds than horse racing.

So we are impressed with the start made by Football Fever, which backs up the results published on the website prior to our trial.

You can view full results here.

This is a very selective service, with only around 20-30 bets per month, so a low workload to follow.

The bets are spread around the English and Scottish leagues, plus the big European leagues, so there is no issue in terms of getting bets matched etc.

Let’s hope things continue in the same vein for Football Fever. We will be back soon with further updates.

Football Fever – New Review

12th October 2015

We recently wrote an article looking at who is the best football tipster, which included some of our own favourites plus an overview of some of the big names in football betting.

Truth be told, there aren’t very many successful football tipsters. That’s despite the beautiful game reportedly being the most gambled on sport in the world, with an estimated £500 billion wagered on football each year.

You would think with all that money being bet on the sport, a few people would have worked out how to make a profit out of it.

Well sadly that seems damn hard – much more difficult than horse racing for example, where there are numerous successful professional gamblers and tipsters.

We are determined however to find those diamonds in the rough – those happy few who have figured out to make money from the world’s most popular sport.

And so we were recently quite excited to come across Football Fever, which is a very promising footy tipster from the Tipster Street stables.

Football Fever

Since starting up this May they have racked up five winning months out of five, with a 60% strike rate and a very impressive 17% ROI.

Football tipsters generally do very well just to manage a 10% ROI, so the 17% achieved to date is rather eye-catching.

Their approach to football betting seems fairly selective, with on average one bet per day during the main season and quite a bit less than that during the Summer season.

Subscription costs are very reasonable at £2.49 for the first month and then £9.95 per month, £19.95 per quarter or £79.95 for life.

If this service can keep up the performance levels it has achieved so far then we may found one of those very rare birds – a football tipster that actually wins.

We will be subjecting this to our usual three month trial to see how it holds up under live test conditions.

Check back here for updates on how the trial goes.

In the meantime you can check out Football Fever here.

Football Acca Tips – Full Review

This has been one of those trials where unfortunately pretty much everything that can go wrong does go wrong. Sometimes that happens in betting when you just hit one of those horror runs and nothing seems to go in your favour.

With the trial finishing 113 points down and losing 75% of the bank, it is difficult to give this anything other than a failed rating.

Here are the results for the trial in graph format:

Football Acca Tips Profit Graph

As you can see, it does somewhat resemble a ski slope with just a small bounce towards the end and the graph represents what was a tough trial.

However, as a lot of the tips recommended are accumulators, there was always the chance that if one of those had landed then things could have looked a whole lot better.

It’s a bit like golf betting where you can go a long time without a winner and be well down, then one winner at 100/1 completely changes the picture.

So we will keep an eye on things here and see if they can land a big winner or two and turn things around.

Service Breakdown

Ease of use: The workload is quite low with bets not coming every day, but normally just when there are Premiership/FA Cup matches and Champions League matches. There is a bit of time required to find the best odds for your accumulators, but that can be made quicker via oddschecker’s bet basket feature.

Availability of prices: Good – with bets being in the Premiership and Champions League, liquidity is obviously good and there are no problems getting the advised prices.

Strike rate: The strike rate for the trial was 16%, which is obviously well below where it needs to be to make a profit.

Advised Betting Bank: The service uses a 100 point bank which resets at the start of each month (if only that would happen in real life!) but we used a 150 bank for the trial as a whole, which nearly got wiped out, decreasing by 75%.

Subscription costs: The costs are £1 per month followed by £9.99 per month.

OVERALL VERDICT: FAILED

Well it’s tough to know what to say when things go this badly. Just one of those things in betting, they have had no luck and hit one of those horror runs.

We intend to keep an eye on things to see if they can land a big winner or two to turn things around, which can easily happen when a service tips at long odds like this one does.

Football Acca Tips – Results Update

13th January 2016

It has been a miserable time for Football Acca Tips since our last update. Unfortunately they have lost a further 63 points since our last update in early December.

That means overall they are 84 points down for the trial after two months.

You can view full results here.

They do tip at big odds for some of their accas – sometimes up to 1,000/1 – so all it takes is one of those to come in and things would turn around dramatically.

We have a month to go in the trial so let’s see if they can land one of those juicy accas and end the trial in profit.

Football Acca Tips – Results Update

2nd December 2015

It’s been a tough start to our trial of Football Acca Tips, who are 21 points down after about three weeks of tips.

You can view full results here.

They have been close with a couple of their accas though, getting 3 out of 4 on two occasions, so things could have easily been better.

They also tip at some big odds – most notably they had one tip at odds of over 5000/1 – definitely the biggest price of any tipping service we have encountered so far here at HBR!

That was for Diego Costa to score first and England to win 2-1 when Spain played England. Didn’t come in obviously, as Spain ran out easy winners in the end.

Anyway, still early days for this service and not many bets to go on so far, so plenty of time to get things back on track.

Back soon more more updates.

Football Acca Tips – New Review

9th November 2015

To date here on Honest Betting Reviews we only have one football betting system that has successfully passed a three-month trial and that is Banker Bets. However, we do have five systems currently under review, so hopefully we will find another one soon.

Today we are adding another football service to that list and it focuses exclusively on accumulators. The tipster in question is called Football Acca Tips.

Bookies apparently love punters who bet on accumulators – they are often seen as the ultimate “mug punters.”

Hence in the old days before internet betting (those of you old enough to remember that!) bookies used to require a minimum of trebles if you wanted to bet on football.

Can you imagine that?! Not being able to bet on a single team – bookies thought it would be too easy for punters to win.

Well fast forward 20 years and their worries were completely unfounded – even betting just on singles, most punters would still end up losing money. Yes we really are that bad at gambling.

But it did reveal two things:-

  1. That bookies thought punters had less chance of winning when they were backing multiple selections
  2. It showed just how miserable bookies really are.

Whilst recognising the tag of “mug punting” that tends to be associated with backing accumulators, at the same time I think of some of my best gambling wins and a lot of them have been accumulators. Sometimes you just get a nice combination of things you think will happen around the same time.

For example I had a very nice one recently which included Djokovic to win the US Open, three banker Champions League matches and New Zealand to win the Rugby World Cup.

All of those sounded quite straightforward and yet I got combined odds of just under 10/1.

And of course they all came in 🙂

So it is with interest that we head into this trial of Football Acca Tips and see if they can make a profit from backing accumulators.

There don’t seem to be any results published on the website, so we will just have to see how things get on during the trial.

Please check back here for updates.

In the meantime you can check out Football Acca Tips here.

Half Time Hero – Final Review

We have reached the end of our three month trial of Half Time Hero and here are the final results:

Profit/loss:    -83.25 points
Strike Rate:   43%
Bank Growth:    -28%
Cost:   £19.99 per month
ROI:   -11%
Average number of tips:    1 per day
VERDICT:   FAILED
Rating:

Half Time Hero Full Review

Well this has truly been a case of “hero to zero.”

We started off the trial with high hopes for Half Time Hero as it appeared to have come up with a novel way of approaching betting on football matches.

Taking a niche approach to betting, particularly on football, is in our opinion the key to making long-term profits.

That is exactly what Half Time Hero did, by only betting in the first half goals market – i.e. for there to be at least one goal in the first half of selected matches.

And with promising results published on their website prior to our trial, we thought they might be onto something.

Well sadly things didn’t match our expectations at all.

We were sitting on -83 points for the trial when the service was abruptly stopped.

There was no e-mail saying selections would be stopping nor any explanation – we just stopped receiving selections on 18th January. We e-mailed to ask what was happening and received no response.

So then we took to going on their website and whilst there is no message on the website about the service being terminated, when you click on the subscribe button it says the service is no longer available.

What annoys us about this though is that they didn’t have the courtesy to inform us the service was finishing or provide us with an explanation.

So if we weren’t being watchful, we quite easily could have gone on paying the monthly subscription.

Fortunately we cancelled just in time before being billed again.

So all in all we are left disappointed and can only give this a FAILED rating. The results for the trial were very disappointing and it didn’t appear that they had uncovered an edge – or at least didn’t do so during our trial.

And their failure to inform us of what was happening or to respond to our e-mails adds to the disappointment here.

So its on to the next system for us and one to forget about here…

Half Time Hero – Results Update

3rd January 2016

It has continued to be a struggle for Half Time Hero since our last update just over a month ago. They have dropped a further 50 points to sit at -77 points overall for the trial.

You can view full results here.

We had high hopes for this service heading into the trial, so it has been disappointing so far after two months of the trial.

It seems that backing over 0.5 goals in the first half is not as simple as it seems. Lots of the results so far have been “pushes” – where there is a goal in the first few minutes before the bet can be matched.

And of the others where the bets have been matched, too many have failed to produce a goal.

Anyway, hopefully they can pick things up and deliver some profits in the final month of the trial.

We will return in February with our final review for Half Time Hero.

Half Time Hero – Results Update

25th November 2015

Unfortunately it has been a slow start to our trial of Half Time Hero. So far after three weeks they are 28 points down.

You can view full results here.

This is a service that bets on there being at least one goal in the first half of selected matches. However, they bet at odds of 1.5 on every bet, so on most occasions you have to wait up until 10 minutes for the bets to get matched.

Hence quite a few bets are void as goals are scored in the first ten minutes before your bets get matched.

We did have quite high hopes for this service, so let’s hope results pick up a bit from here.

Back soon with more updates.

Half Time Hero – New Review

6th November 2015

Today we are commencing a review of a new football betting system called Half Time Hero.

As the title suggests, it focuses on bets just in the first half of matches – so that if they win, I suppose you could say you are a “half time hero” – and don’t need to worry about the rest of the match.

Specifically, they bet solely on there being a goal in the first half of a match. So you can do this either by backing over 0.5 first half goals or laying the HT 0-0 scoreline. It shouldn’t make much of a difference which you do, as they are both liquid markets and are effectively the same thing.

An interesting twist to the service though is that they only bet at odds of 1.5 (on the over 1.5 first half goals market) – which as you can imagine, means the bet will generally only be matched in-running.

So there is the possibility that a goal will be scored before your bet is matched, meaning a void bet, but Brian who runs the service says not to worry as there will be plenty more games to bet on.

He also says most bets will be matched within the first 10 minutes, so we will see if that is reflected in the results during our trial.

The results published on the website look impressive, with over 17 points of profit since the service started in August of this year. That is very impressive for a football service backing at such low odds and equates to over 5 points profit per month so far.

There are three possible staking plans suggested:

1. Level staking using a 30 point bank – simply backing each selection for 1 point.. simple enough!

2. Perecentage bank staking – Increase your stake as your bank increase by percentage value.

3. Double or nothing! This is not quite as it sounds – it means taking your winnings from the previous bet and rolling them on to the next one. So it is high risk but Brian illustrates with an example how it can quickly escalate if you have 5 winners or so in a row.

We will use level staking for the trial however, as that is what we use for every other trial to ensure a level playing field between the services we review.

Encouragingly, you are promised that if you fail to make a profit from the selections in any given month, you will be refunded the subscription costs of £19.99. Can’t say fairer than that really!

We have to say we are quite intrigued by this service, it appears to be a beautifully simple approach but could well be profitable with the correct research done.

Anyway, as ever only time will tell. Check back here for updates on how things go during the trial.

In the meantime you can check out Half Time Hero here.

iWinSoccerBets – Final Review

We have come to the end of our trial of iWinSoccerBets and here are the final results:

Profit/loss:   -8 points
Strike Rate:    53%
Bank Growth:   -16%
Cost:   £29 for 14 days or £49 per month
ROI:   -5.5%
Average number of tips:   11 per week
VERDICT:   NEUTRAL
Rating:

iWinSoccerBets – Full Review

Following fast on the heels of our final review of the Football Tipster we have iWinSoccerBets which has just finished its three month trial here at Honest Betting Reviews.

Our comments for both services are quite similar, in that they both finished in a loss for the trial but the losses were small so it was not a disaster.

In the case of iWinSoccerBets, the loss was -8 points, which represented a 16% loss of the bank.

Here is how the trial went in graph format:

iWinSoccerBets Profit Graph

It was quite a steady decline until a bit of a rally late on.

In general it does seem it’s much tougher to make a profit betting on football than on horse racing.

So far we have only passed one football betting system or tipster (Banker Bets) and that service tips not only on football but also covers tennis and has the odd bet in US Sports.

Compare that to eight horse racing tipsters we have approved and you will get a sense of what we are talking about.

Football is just damn hard to make money out of. Yet it is the most gambled on sport in the world. The bookies must love it!

We get the feeling for a service to make money on football in the long run it has to come up with something genuinely different.

Banker Bets does it with betting at very short odds and identifying value in those selections, which is unusual and not something we had seen before from a football tipster.

But it’s hard to make money just betting on win selections each week unless you can find a clear edge.

We didn’t really see it here with iWinSoccerBets or with the Football Tipster. That’s not to say it can’t be done, but in our view it’s a tough ask.

So the wait for a winning football-only tipster goes on…

Service Breakdown

Ease of use: The bets are sent out by e-mail which is good and there are around 11 bets per week, so the workload is very manageable.

Availability of prices: Most of the selections are in the main European and English leagues, so there is no problem with the availability of prices.

Strike rate: The strike rate for the trial was 53%, which is fairly solid. To make a profit it would probably need to be closer to 60% though.

Advised Betting Bank: There wasn’t a specific betting bank advised but we used a 50 point bank for the trial, which was more than comfortable.

Subscription costs: The subscription costs are a little on the high side – particularly based on the results so far – at £29 for 14 days or £49 per month. There are free tips available though.

OVERALL VERDICT: NEUTRAL

Well it’s another football service finishing in a loss and we are seeing something of a pattern here.

The loss for iWinSoccerBets was 8 points, which was disappointing over the course of three months. There have certainly been some strange results lately in the Premier League which may account for some of the difficulties encountered.

So although this not delivered the hoped-for profits, it is not quite bad enough for us to give it a fail either. A 16% loss of the bank is no disaster.

Perhaps one to keep an eye on as it is a relative newcomer and results may pick up as they get themselves established.

The good thing is you can join for free and test them out for a while before deciding whether to go to the paid tips, which may be the best option here at the moment.

iWinSoccerBets – Results Update

15th December 2016

It has been a tricky run for iWinSoccerBets since our last update just over a month ago. They have dropped 14 points to sit at -12 points now after two months.

You can view full results here.

As we have said elsewhere, it has been a tough time for football tipsters lately with a spate of strange results.

Still time left for iWinSoccerBets to turn it round though and finish the trial in profit.

Back soon with more updates.

————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

iWinSoccerBets – Results Update

7th November 2015

It has been a slow but steady start for iWinSoccerBets to their trial, with 2.46 points accumulated after a month of tipping.

You can view full results here.

It is always harder to make big profits on football than on horse racing as you are betting at much lower odds, so 2.65 points isn’t too bad. We think any service that can manage 5 points per month betting on football to 1 point level stakes is doing very well.

They have had a couple of nice winners at tasty odds, including Liverpool to beat Chelsea at 4.22 and Stoke to beat Swansea at 3.96.

The good thing is that tips are pretty much all in the big leagues, so there is no problem getting the advised odds or getting the bets on.

So a solid start for iWinSoccerBets – let’s hope things continue in positive fashion.

Back soon with more updates.

iWinSoccerBets – New Review

2nd October 2015

Following on from our recent article about who is the best football tipster, today we are commencing another trial of a football tipster.

Our quest here at Honest Betting Reviews is to find the very best football tipsters. So we are always on the look out for new talent and we may have found something promising in the form of iWinSoccerBets.

This is a relatively new football tipping service that operates both free tips and “VIP” paid tips.

They tip across leagues from around the world and whilst focusing mainly on the match odds market, also tip in markets such as both teams to score and over/under markets.

They use historical and statistical modelling to come up with the selections and you are provided with the historical data behind the tips, which is always reassuring. You do sometimes wonder with some tipping services where there is no reasoning behind the tip whether they are just plucking the selections out of thin air!

We will undertake our normal three month review and see how this one gets on. With the footy season in full swing it’s a good time to get involved with football betting as there is a good bank of results now to go on.

You can check back here soon for results updates, but in the meantime if you want to view iWonSoccerBets, you can click here.
